2. Motivation
Who among you here are familiar with the planets
in our solar system? Me, teacher.
Okay. Since most of you knew the planets in our
solar system, I have here different pictures of the
planets. All you have to do is to arrange the
sequence of these planets according to its order in
the solar system. Later on, we will check if you
answered correctly. Is that clear? Yes, teacher.

C. Presentation of the Lesson

1. Unlocking of Difficulties
Solar system- the collection of eight planets and
their moons in orbit around the sun.
Playground- an outdoor area provided for children
to play in, especially at a school or public park.
Rocket ship- is a form of transportation that can
take a person into space.
[pictures and illustrations will be seen in CAIM]

2. Discussion
Now, I will read to you the story of “The Three
Best Friends’ Space Adventure.”
Are you guys ready? Yes, teacher.
Let’s travel!
The Story:
Once upon a time, there were three best
friends named Mike, Jessa, and Jaya. They were
playing in the park when suddenly, a giant rocket
ship landed in front of them. As it opened, they saw
their alien friends visiting them. Then, their alien
friends invited them to roam around the solar
system. They were very excited, and so they wear
their space suit immediately. And off they go. As
they are approaching the solar system, they were
very amazed. First, they made a stop to the first
planet, the Mercury where they discover that it is
the smallest planet closest to the sun. Next, they
went to is Venus, they wore sunscreen because it’s
the hottest planet. Then they went to Earth, the only
place where there is life, and their home. Then the
fourth planet they go to is Mars, the red planet.
They played tag together with their alien friends
there. After that, they went to Jupiter, the largest
planet of them all. They watched as the 80 moons
of Jupiter perform their dance. Then they went to
Saturn, the second largest planet. They went for a
slide to one of its rings. Next, they went to Uranus
and played together with its 27 moons. After that,
they went to Neptune, where they wear their boots
and rain outfits because of Neptune’s heavy storm
and wind. After all the fun they had, it was time to
go home. Finally, their alien friends dropped them
off at the playground and said their goodbyes. They
then waved back to their friends with a smile.
Indeed, it was a very fun adventure that they’ll sure
treasure.

Who are the main characters in the story? The three best friends named Mike, Jessa,
and Jaya.
Who visited them? Their alien friend.
Where did they go to? To the solar system
What transportation did they use to go to space? Rocket ship.
Where did they first go to and what did they They made a stop to Mercury where they
discover? discover that it is the smallest planet closest
to the sun.
Where did they go to next? The second planet they went to is Venus.
And then? They then went to Earth, the only place
where there is life, and their home.
After that? Then they go to Mars, the red planet. They
played tag together with their alien friends
there.
Next? They went to Jupiter, the largest planet of
them all. They watched as the 80 moons of
Jupiter perform a dance.
And then? Then they went to Saturn, the second largest
planet. They went for a slide to one of its
rings.
Next? They went to Uranus and played together
with its 27 moons.
Which planet did they go to last? They went to Neptune.
Why did they wear boots and rain outfits in
Neptune? Because of Neptune’s heavy storm and
wind.
Very good!
Class, what you just did is called Sequencing of
Events.
Sequencing of events- the identification of the
components of a story — the beginning, middle,
and end — and also to the ability to retell the events
within a given text in the order in which they
occurred.
You were able to tell the different parts of the story,
from the beginning until the end of it. You were
sequencing the events that had happened in our
story.
Sequencing of events has signal words that are
helpful for us to tell the sequence of the story.
For example: First, Next, Then, After that, and
finally.

Now, who can recall a sentence from our story that

has these signal words? First, they made a stop to the first planet, the
Mercury where they discover that it is the
What else? smallest planet closest to the sun.
Next, they went to is Venus, they wore
Do we have more? sunscreen because it’s the hottest planet.
After that, they went to Jupiter, the largest
What else? planet of them all.
Finally, their alien friends dropped them off
Very good! at the playground and said their goodbyes.

3. Generalization
Now I have here some sentences, all you have to do
is to raise your right hand and tell me the sequence
of these sentences based on our story. We will use
the number 1-5 to label each sentence as to what the
correct sequence of the events is.
Is that clear? Yes, teacher.
(the pictures will be provided in the CAIM)

After that, they went to Jupiter, the largest planet of

them all. They watched as the 80 moons of Jupiter
perform their dance.
Then, they went to Saturn, the second largest
planet. They went for a slide to one of its rings.

4. Application
Now, I will group the class in 2 groups. All you
have to do is to answer the worksheet I have
provided. Each group has the same worksheet so
the first one to yell “AHU! AHU!” and are sitting
quietly will have a plus points. I have here a marker
that you will use to write the numbers 1-4 in the
space box provided. I will give you 2 minutes to
finish the task. Is that clear? Yes, teacher.
Our task will be guided with our rubrics below.
