Simple Past: Regular and Irregular verbs and Verb to Be

1. Find the verbs in this text and write them in the boxes.

Hello! I’m Amine and this is my best friend Ali. Yesterday, we


went to the park near my house. We played the guitar and
sang our favorite songs. We brought with us a lot of food but
we didn’t eat it, we only drunk some soda and water. I saw
there Karim. We talked about his birthday and he invited us
to his party. We stayed in the park a couple of hours
because we had a lot of fun with the friends. Actually, I
didn’t want to go back home!

 We use the past simple to talk about things we did in the past.
 The past simple ending is -ed for regular verbs: play – played, invite – invited, …
Remember  Irregular verbs have a special form: see – saw, drink – dunk, go – went, ….
 For the negative, don’t change the main verb. Use ‘didn’t’ instead:
play – didn’t play, eat – didn’t eat
