 Class Communications

 Conversations
The Conversations area, within the Activity
section, is where your fellow classmates and
your instructor can post any questions,
comments, or other relevant information
about the course.
Guidelines
Here are some guidelines to keep in mind:
1. Check often and
contribute! Conversations is a wonderful
way to make connections with your
classmates and instructor, and it will
enhance your learning experience.
2. Don't be afraid to share your questions
about a specific topic with the class.
Other students will often have the same
questions, and all will benefit from the
exchange of ideas.
3. Post messages that add to or enrich the
lesson at hand.
4. Treat your fellow classmates with
respect. You share a common goal—to
learn as much as you can from the
course.
5. Read previous messages before you post
so that you fully understand the context
and direction of each discussion.
Live
The Live tool (located in the navigation bar
on the left) is the tool we will use to hold our
"live" class meetings each week. Class
meeting times will be listed here for each Live
Class.
When a Live Class starts, you will see a
notification (on the left navigation bar) and an
automated email will be sent letting you know
the class has started. You can join the Live
Class by clicking on the "Join" button that
appears when the class has gone live. An
instructional video is located in the
"Orientation Movies" section of the course if
you are having trouble connecting to the Live
Class.
Guidelines
Here are some guidelines to keep in mind:
1. Prepare for the Live Class with questions
related to the announced topic for that
week. Be sure to complete readings and
other assigned activities. These will give
you a firm basis for the course content
and allow you to be a fully informed
participant.
2. Choose a quiet, well-lit room, and make
sure to dress appropriately. Treat this as
a real live classroom environment setting.
3. Make sure to set up your video and audio
feed in advance.
4. Make a point to be kind and respectful in
your comments—even if you disagree with
someone.
5. When you're not speaking, keep your mic
on mute.
