BESM Fourth Edition Errata

~ Updated 7 October 2023 ~


This document compiles all identified significant errata for BESM Fourth Edition (#JPG800). Typos, grammatical
structures, punctuation errors, minor math revisions, and text clarifications are not included unless they are deemed
significant. Furthermore, most of these entries apply to the print edition only, since the PDFs on DriveThruRPG are
updated periodically.

Page 38 – Archfiend
The Template’s Mind Control Attribute should be changed to read:
“Level 2 (3), 10 Points – Mind Control (Narrow: Demons +1)”

The Template’s Summon Creatures Attribute should be changed to read:


“Level 4 (3), 8 Points – Summon Creatures (Dimensional -2; Narrow: Demons +1)”

Page 41 – Giant Living Robot


The Template’s Special Movement should read “Fast 2”

Page 45 – Homo Psyche


The Template’s Sixth Sense Attribute should be change to read:
“Level 2, 2 Points – Sixth Sense (Emotions, Psionics; Potent -1; Deplete +1)”

Page 56 – Table 05
The cost for the Exorcist Template should be 50, not 55

Page 82 – Change State


Last sentence of first paragraph change to read:
“Unless the Maximum Limiter (page 151) is assigned, the character can change into any state up to its
Level allowance.”

Page 82 – Cognition
Clarified the use of Cognition at a distance by adding a sentence:
“When paired with the Area Enhancement, it can also represent a form of clairvoyance and clairaudience
(perception of events at a distance).”

Page 96 – Ground Speed


Clarified the use of Ground Speed with items by changing first sentence in second paragraph:
“The Ground Speed Attribute grants land movement to an otherwise stationary object.”

Page 118 – Resilient


Resilient provides 10 Armour Rating against environmental conditions, rather than 5 (final paragraph of
Attribute description).

Page 122 – Special Movement: Fast


Clarified that the speed doubling applies to all calculated ground movement speeds, including walking,
jogging, running, and sprinting.

Page 147 – Targets


Clarified the use of Targets with Weapons by adding the following text:
“Characters do not normally assign Targets to Weapons. Instead, assign the Area or Spreading
Enhancements.”

Page 151 – Imbue


Clarified that the Imbue effect of the Attribute itself cannot be granted to others

Page 214 – Deep-Sea Diving Suit


The Resilient Attribute cost should be 12 Points.
Total Point cost should be 15 Points [7 Point Item]

Page 216 – Wagon


The Ground Speed Attribute should be change to read:
“Level 1, 1 Point – Ground Speed (10 kph; Potent -2; Assisted: Draft Animals +1;
Road-Bound +1)”

Page 217 – Attack Helicopter


The Rocket Pods should be change to read:
“Weapon: Rocket Pods (Area -2; Helper -1; Range -4; Spreading -2; Ammo +1; Inaccurate +1)”

Page 219 – Assault Mecha


Superstrength should be Level 6 [24 Points]
Weapon: Missile Pack should be Level 16 (10) [32 Points]
Total Point cost should be 130 Points [65 Point Item]

Page 225 – Blowing Up Worlds


Third sentence of paragraph change to read:
"Only weapons with sufficient assignments of the Area Enhancement to accommodate the planet's Awkward
Size Rating are useful, since all other attacks simply do not affect a large enough section of the object to be
noticeable."
