History of Rizal Law
“The people would eliminate
the books of Rizal from the
schools and blot out from
our minds the memory of the
national hero. This is not a
fight against Recto but a
fight against Rizal.”

between Petra and an old man on which profession was

"It's all settled. Your godson is going

"Priest? Nonsense! A doctor makes a

lot of money and his patients treat

"Please! All the priest has to do is turn around three
or four times and say dominos pabiscum, and he
eats God and gets paid for it. All of us, even the
women, tell him our secrets.“

"And the doctor? What do you think of the

girls. I'd like to be a doctor, just for a week!“ the doctors see? Even more! You know the saying,
"Plump hen and woman fair are priestly fare."
Chapter 23: Fishing
The poor parishioners endure another long fire-and-
brimstone seron during Sunday mass:

"...You will die unrepentant and unshriven ye race of heretics! Already God is punishing you
on this earth in dungeons and prisons... Jesus said: If a member of your body leads you to sin,
cut it off and throw it into the fire..."

Father Damaso was nervous; he had forgotten his sermon and his rhetoric.
"Did you hear that?" A student from Manila asked his companion.

We'll, are you going to cut it off?

Fat chance. Let him do it first!
