Covid-19 Mitigation Recommendations

The Manitoba Band Association recommends the following mitigations for in-person events:

Immunization

All MBA staff are required to be fully immunized against Covid-19, providing proof of
vaccination before gaining access to a program facility. Immunization by all MBA program
participants is recommended.

Physical Distancing

The MBA will seek to use large spaces that can accommodate physical distancing to the
greatest extent possible. Additionally, staggered positioning will be used whenever possible so
participants are not directly in front of each other.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

Facilities will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after use. Hand hygiene will be performed
before and after use of any shared equipment.

Masks

The use of masks is encouraged in indoor public settings. Wind instrument players who remove
their masks before playing are encouraged to put them back on after they have finished
playing.

Program Changes

Although the MBA plans to move forward with in-person events using the mitigations listed
above, health and safety will remain our top priority. We will adapt to public health measures
as needed, and any changes will be communicated with participants as soon as possible.
