Gymnasium Use SOP

The COVID-19 pandemic has sent shockwaves around the globe, leading to a
public health emergency that has killed thousands and plunged the global
economy.
COVID-19 has also suspended the sporting calendar, with professional
leagues everywhere suspending their activities.
Given the emerging challenges, the world must think of exploring new ways of
thinking, finding innovative ways to resume training, including cyber training
while ensuring that protection of athletes, coaches and management staff
remains a paramount concern.
So we have to come up with the plan by which we can encourage activity on
our campus.

1. Principles for the resumption of sport and recreation activities:-

● Resumption of activities should not compromise the health of

individuals or the community.
● Resumption of activities will be based on objective health information
to ensure they are conducted safely and do not risk increased
COVID-19 local transmission rates .
● All decisions about resumption of activities must take place with
careful reference to the medical department.
● At all times participants must respond to the directives of Public Health
Authorities. Localized outbreaks may require participants to again
restrict activity and those organizations must be ready to respond
accordingly.

2. Scope and Coverage in campus:-

● Classification of participants based on various activities.

● Prioritization & Implementation of Methods.
● Precautions/Checks against COVID-19 & restriction of access to
different activities.
● Administrative Direction such as hostel and living measures.
3. Measurement to be implemented prior commencement of
operations:-

Covid Task Force – A set of administration personnel will be

instituted which shall ensure smooth administration of all usual
gym activities in consonance with covid appropriate norms.

4. Guiding principle for resumption of activity:-

Implementation of necessary precaution

All members shall be necessarily required to go a temperature
screening using a thermo-gun before being able to access the
gym.

Post daily operational hours all training equipment is to be

thoroughly sanitised.

Education and sensitization of athletes and staff

All members shall be briefed on the covid appropriate behaviour
and hygiene norms in order to prevent a potential spread of
infection.

Categorisation of sports and precautions for each category

Categories:

● No-contact sports
● Moderate contact sports
● High contact sports

Based on the degree of contact risk monitoring would be decided

for each sport.

Continuous monitoring and management of protocols

Members of covid task force would maintain a constant vigil for
any gym member who has symptoms of Covid-19 and report such
instances if spotted.
