By Adrian P. Maravillas
In a vibrant tribute to its educators, Lupi National High School (LNHS),
spearheaded by the Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG), commemorated National Teacher’s Day on October 13th at the school's Technical- Vocational-Livelihood building. Kicking off at 7:30 a.m., the program, rich with performances and activities, aimed to honor both teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution. The day began under the guidance of the event’s masters of ceremonies, Ms. Trisha Regidor, the SSLG Secretary, and Ms. Laica Noora, the SSLG Public Information Officer. The audience stood in respect for the National Anthem, led by SSLG Auditor Ms. Princess Crisha Llanes, followed by a solemn invocation from the SSLG Grade 11 Representative, Mr. Marcmiel Barabad. SSLG President, Ms. Cindy Vargas, then set the stage with her welcoming remarks. The highlight of the program was the teachers’ special performances by each club. The first to perform a well-prepared dance was the Makabayan Club, led by Ma’am Marisol Delos Santos. They were immediately followed by the Science- Mathematics Club, who performed a dance for everyone. The English-Filipino Club came after and showcased a song chosen by Ma’am Cherry May Silvallana. The last club to present was the Student Technologists and Entrepreneurs of the Philippines (STEP) Club, who delivered an energetic dance to the song “Girl in The Mirror”. The latter half of the event was marked by games designed for the teachers. The “Guess the Lyrics” challenge was aced by Ma’am Alena Mary Rosebelle Melmida. An interesting turn in the "Charades" game saw Ma’am Joely Dela Trinidad and Sir Eddie Alde Jr. winning by default, being the lone participants. The “Putukan Lobo” game witnessed the triumph of Sir Jomeric Lagos, Sir Salvador Belda, Sir Archie Aspra, and Sir Mark Poche. Rounding off the games, the “Stop Dance” winners were Sir Jomeric Lagos, Sir Mark Poche, and Ma’am Marisol Delos Santos. Drawing the festivities to a close, SSLG Vice President Ms. Catherine Antiquera reflected on the profound impact and dedication of teachers. While attendees enjoyed snacks, a touching video presentation by Ms. Crizley Ruiles played in the background. Notably absent from the festivities was the school principal, Ma’am Florentina Marquez, due to prior commitments. The program concluded with the words of Ms. Antiquera, which resonated with many: "To our teachers, thank you for your unwavering dedication, determination, and the invaluable hard work you put in every day.”
