Moving Up Ceremony Narrative Report

A Million Dreams
Education is not the means of showing people how to get what they want. Education
is an exercise by means of which enough men, it is hoped, will learn to want what is worth having. –
Ronald Reagan.

It is the most waited time of the year for the completers of Taga-Ibo National High School as
they took another step closer to their dreams. After four years of learning, bonding with friends and
classmates, and spending their weekdays on their second home, they are now moving up.

The 3rd Moving Up Ceremony held last July 14, 2022, at Taga-Ibo National High School
marked another milestone in the history of Taga-Ibo National High School. This special afternoon
started with a processional of the candidates for completion with their parents, the faculty and staff
and the guests marked its formal opening. The March was followed by the Prayer, singing of the
National Anthem, Regional Hymn, Davao Hymn and Division Hymn. Ms. Ronalyn O. Empic, School
Head of Taga-Ibo National High School then gave her welcome address.

The School Head of Taga-Ibo National High School, Ronalyn O. Empic then presented the
candidates for completion and was immediately confirmed and accepted by the Guest School Head,
Mr. Sandee Domingo. Any moving up ceremony will not be completed without the giving of inspiring
messages Hence, the former School Head of Taga-Ibo Elementary School, Mr. Sandee Domingo
inspired the completers with his message.

To recognize the efforts and dedication shown by the completers to their studies, the
distribution of certificate of completion and the conferring of academic and special awards followed,
where the awardees joyfully received their certificates and medals. The happiness of the parents
can’t be contained when they went upstage and accompanied their children in receiving their
awards.

Moving on, Ms. Ronalyn O. Empic, the School Head of Taga-Ibo National High School
presented the Guest Speaker for the event, Ms. Mayrafie Ely Duloy a DSWD Field Officer. She left an
inspiring remark and emphasized in her talk the importance of education as a tool in changing
someone’s life as well as in changing the world and making a difference.

A tear-jerking and overwhelming words of gratitude was then given by Ethel Angel S. Dawag,
another Academic Excellence Awardee. Followed by a thanksgiving message to parents through a
song, “Thanks to You” presented by the Completers. Lastly, a message from the PTA President, Doro
Sumahay Sr. was given to end the moving up ceremony.

The ceremony will not be as memorable as it is without the singing of the Moving Up song.
The completers meaningfully sang the song, “A Million Dreams” which somehow embodied their
dreams and aspirations in life. Every lyric of the song touched the hearts of everyone who was able
to witness and celebrate the momentous occasion.

The program formally ended with the recessional.
