Enkindled

Ext – Outside of the manor – Morning

1925s, SE, England

We are introduced to the feet of a milkman walking along a path from

a side view the camera then pans to the back of the milkman walking
up to a big gate. Now we are introduced to a grand manor house while
the milkman walks closer and closer he then arrives at the door and
is approached by a lady dressed in 1920s smart attire.

Milkman

Good mornin', madam! Just the one bottle for you today

Mildred

Thank you peter! (Grabs milk)

Milkman

Ma’am (tilts hat)

INT – OLD MANOR HOUSE - DAY

The camera then follows Mildred back into the house where we are
introduced to the family setting up for the reunion. The females are
setting the tables and the men look as if they are having a
thrilling conversation in the corner. One of the ladies looks over
at Mildred and pulls her aside.

Ruth

(Wisper’s huddled together) Do tell me you have a welcome

home present for your brother.
 Mildred

No mother (pause) I didn’t realise I had to!

Ruth

Mildred of course you have to! (She says assertively)

He’s been away for almost 2 years; you must present him with
something to mark this occasion. There’s an exquisite little shop
situated on potter’s road. Now I recommend you get your brother a
gift before this evening’s festivities.

Mildred

Fine, mother. (Picks up coat aggressively)

Richard

Mildred deer, where are you off to in such a hurry. (He

shouts)

Mildred

Don’t worry father, I’ll be back.
