Critical literacy and the arts
The last reporter is Mr. Elizalde Valdez II, where he talks about
critical literacy and the arts. He also talks about the Australian Curriculum
for the Arts. We all know that literacy means the ability to write and read
while Australian curriculum is a learning area that draws together related
but distinct art forms. The curriculum examines past, current and emerging
arts practices in each art form across a range of cultures and places.
Through making and responding to artworks with increasing self-
confidence, the arts attempt to promote students' creativity, critical
thinking, aesthetic knowledge, and understanding of arts processes.

In our present, we all need literacy. For me, I think if we do not have
some knowledge in writing and reading skills, our daily lives will not be
easy. Maybe some people will take advantage of us. For example, in a
letter where you need to sign, because you are not literate and you are not
able to read what is in the paper, it can cause trouble. That’s why being
literate is very important in this life.
