1. What is the difference between educational objectives and learning targets?

*1. The difference between educational objectives and learning targets is as follows:
educational objectives refer to broader, general instructions that educators use to measure
what students need to acquire by the end of the lesson. On the other hand, learning targets
are more specific and measurable, breaking down the objective into smaller points to provide
clear guidance for both the teacher and students.

2. What are the common typologies of learning targets?

*The common typologies of learning targets are: knowledge, reasoning, skill, product, and
affect or disposition.

3. Why is it important that learning targets and assessment tasks/activities are matched?
*It is crucial that your learning targets must be matched with the given task activities. This
alignment allows you to assess whether the learners have acquired something from the lesson
through the assessment you provided. You cannot give an assessment that doesn't align with
your specific learning targets and expect the learners to make a connection. This illustrates
the importance of matching the lesson and the assessment to avoid confusion and to assess
them properly.

4. What are the three learning target types that are best assessed through alternative
assessment methods? Why?
*From my perspective, among the three learning targets: skills, product, and affect or
disposition, the types best assessed through alternative assessment methods are skills and
product. An alternative method is a performance and product-oriented assessment, which is
based on authentic tasks that could be utilized in a real-world setting. Skills play a crucial role
not just in alternative assessment, but also in various methods. Similarly, a product is also
best assessed using an alternative method, where you can create or develop something that
reflects what you have learned or gained from your skills.
