The Research on Optimization Strategy of College English Teaching Mode Based on
5G Technology and Artificial Intelligence Technology

Abstract—In order to overcome the limitations of the current
college English teaching mode in China, and to expand the
service scope of 5G technology and artificial intelligence
technology, this paper proposes an optimization strategy of
English teaching mode in colleges and universities based on 5G
technology and artificial intelligence technology. This
optimization strategy breaks the traditional college English
teaching mode in China, and introduces 5G technology and
artificial intelligence technology, which greatly improves the
intelligence of English classroom in colleges and universities.
At the same time, the optimization strategy can also make 5G
technology and artificial intelligence technology skillfully
combine, which can improve the quality of English teaching in
colleges and universities from many aspects, and
comprehensively and systematically realize the teaching
concept of "teach students according to their aptitude". The
results show that the optimization strategy can not only
overcome the limitations of English model in China in colleges
and universities , but also improve the service scope of 5G
technology and artificial intelligence technology, so as to
improve students' English listening, speaking, reading and
writing ability in multiple dimensions in colleges and
universities.

I. INTRODUCTION
At present, the rapid development of science and
technology, 5G technology and artificial intelligence
technology, in essence, have been made distinctly great
process on all works of life. In addition, artificial
intelligence technology, in essence, can make an optimal
difference to all works of life. Moreover, with the
advance of society and economy, overwhelming majority
of citizens come to realize the paramount importance of
education, likewise, with the development trend of
globalization, the paramount importance of English, in
essence, has been widely accepted by overwhelming
majority of citizens, as a consequence, experts and
professors, introduce English into classrooms in Chinese
schools. At the same time, experts and professors and
other senior educators, have made an organic and
scientific combination of artificial intelligence technology
and English teaching, which makes a notable difference
to current English teaching mode in China. In addition,
experts and professors, have made a further research or
investigation on the relationship between “teaching” and
“learning”, which makes students can take active part in
teaching activities and be willing to do automatic learning.
To put it a nutshell, artificial intelligence technology, in
essence, can provide a new approach to make a revolution

of in our contemporary college English teaching mode,
which can make an optimal difference to the realization
of college English teaching purposes.
II. THEORETICAL BASIS
A. 5G Technology
5G provides the same as the previous mobile networks,
such as 2G, 3G and 4G. In addition, 5G, in our current
society, can be recognized as a new product in 21st
century. Moreover, 5G, in essence, can be called as
digital cellular network. Furthermore, using 5G
demonstrates distinctly that the service zones created by
suppliers can be divided into a series of small zones, like
honeycombs. At the same time, in mobile phones with 5G
technology, videos and images, needless to say, can be
digitalized in overwhelming majority of citizens’ studies
and working lives. In the meantime, all wireless
equipment with 5G can communicate with other
equipment through the radio waves, sending sets and
receiving sets. Moreover, the channels in the cellular
networks can be reusable. In addition, when users
transform a cellular network into other cellular network,
their mobile equipment will turn to the new cellular
network.
On the whole, the data transmission rate of 5G
network, in essence, can be faster than current wired
network and remains one hundred times as fast as
previous 4G LTE cellular network. At the same time, the
quicker answering time can be regarded as another main
advantage of 5G network. Due to the quick data
transmission rate, 5G network, needless to say, can
provide services for mobile phones, likewise, can become
network providers or network suppliers of general or
average families or offices, which can compete with
wired network suppliers or providers.
5G, in essence, remains a sort of digital cellular
network, which comprises antennas and automatic
transceivers, which can have signals digitalized. At the
same time, it proves worth noting that when users are on
the edge of a cellular network, they can be automatically
and accurately connected with the next cellular network,
which can be recognized as a basic principal of
cellphones traffic. On the whole, if 5G technology,
needless to say, can be made the most of in all children
and adults’ lives, the suppliers of cables and routers may
feel disappointed since there exist a good supply of
wireless connecting with everything. In other words, the
personal computers, in essence, have been weeded out by
4G technology, which provides a solid foundation for the

 rapid development of mobile network, as well as 5G
technology, making it possible that the applications of a
series of high and new technologies, such as artificial
intelligence technology, driverless technology, cloud
technology, etc., can make extraordinarily great process
and the breakout of a series of advanced technologies.

B. Artificial Intelligence Technology
Artificial intelligence technology, in essence, can be a
sort of new science or technology, which can imitate
human beings’ intelligence. On the whole, artificial
intelligence technology, in essence, proves a new product
created by overwhelming majority of experts and
professors in 21st century, which possesses three main
features, imitation, extensibility and expansibility,
respectively. Moreover, artificial intelligence technology,
can imitate all children and adults’ behaviors and
thoughts, and can have experts and professors’ thoughts
in all walks of life to extend current application of
artificial intelligence technology.

Artificial intelligence technology, in essence, belongs
to the field of computer science, which aims to make an
in-depth knowledge on the nature of intelligence, and
generate a sort of new power to imitate human beings’
thoughts and behaviors, which can have the system based
on artificial intelligence technology, needless to say, can
make a quick response to diverse situations. At the same
time, artificial intelligence technology, extends gradually
its application range, as a consequence, in the near further.
The scientific products brought by artificial intelligence
technology, in essence, can be the container of human
beings’ intelligence, conversely, artificial intelligence
technology, can bring a good supply of intractable
problems, such as ethnic and morality issues.
Artificial intelligence technology, in essence, proves a
new science, likewise, employees in artificial intelligence
technology, have to master computer science, psychology

and philosophy, etc. At the same time, artificial
intelligence technology, in essence, can be widely made
the most of in immerse amounts of industries all over the
world, which comprises diverse fields, such as machine
learning, computer vision, and so on. On the whole,
artificial intelligence technology, in essence, can have
machines based on artificial intelligence technology to
accomplish some intractable and complicated tasks
instead of employees.
III. THE ANALYSIS OF CURRENT COLLEGE ENGLISH
TEACHING MODE
Based on a certain teaching theory, the teaching mode
can form a structure of teaching activities which
comprises the specific teaching contents and objects. At
present, in China, multimedia technology, has been
brought into English teaching classroom in colleges and
universities. In addition, multimedia technology, needless
to say, can make an optimal difference to English
listening teaching. At the same time, multimedia
technology, needless to say, can be helpful supports for
teaching methods to explain the textbook and guide
practice in the class. While, at present, the English
teaching in colleges and universities has limitations which
centers on teachers who are responsible for the whole
teaching activities, such as design, implementation,
evaluation. Furthermore, due to the large scale of teaching
classroom and immerse amounts of students in colleges
and universities, educators, in essence, remain difficult in
mastering every student’ study situation. At the same time,
language learning, need a good supply of practices, on the
contrary, Lacking of feedback and evaluation towards
English practice, can lower students’ learning quality. In
English teaching activities, as for English teachers, it is
critical important to encourage students to accomplish
immerse amounts of practices on English learning, and to
make a further research on the evaluations and feedback.
Artificial intelligence technology, in essence, has been
made the most of by experts and professors, at the same
time, artificial intelligence technology, has been made
the full advantage of in a new education system,
especially in talents training mode, teaching method
revolution, which has comprises intelligence learning and
interaction learning. In our contemporary society, how to
create a new education environment centering on students
can provide specific education services. In other countries,
the application of artificial intelligence technology, in
essence, in education has gain high attention. In addition,
artificial intelligence technology, can enhance the level of
education and have educators participate in quality-
oriented education. At the same time, how to make an
organic and scientific combination of artificial
intelligence technology and college English classroom, in
essence, has been an indispensable issue in our
contemporary society, which not only can promote
artificial intelligence technology to extend its application
range, but also can make a distinct difference to education.
Moreover, the application of artificial intelligence
technology, needless to say, can be divided into three
 parts, respectively, such as the application of artificial
intelligence technology in teaching process, the role of
artificial intelligence technology in college English
teaching mode and how to make an accurate and
scientific evaluation on the quality of teaching activities.
IV. THE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TECHNOLOGY OF
COLLEGE ENGLISH TEACHING
If the paper would like to draw a conclusion about the
artificial intelligence technology of college English
teaching, in essence, then the paper has to firstly answer
the question of what kinds of issues artificial intelligence
technology, in essence, can cope with. In our
contemporary society, with the rapid development of
artificial intelligence technology, the indispensable
significance of artificial intelligence technology in
English education, needless to say, has been deeply
realized by overwhelming majority of children and adults
all over the world. As a consequence, the paper tries to
make a further research and investigation on the organic
and scientific combination of artificial intelligence
technology and college English teaching system. At
present, there exists natural language processing
technology, belonging to artificial intelligence technology,
can make a large impact on college English teaching
mode.
A. The Pertinent Technology of English Listening and
English Speaking
In our contemporary society, the pertinent technology,
belonging to 5G technology and artificial intelligence
technology, has a good supply of research fields, such as
Voice Recognition, Speech Recognition, Speaker
Recognition, Lip-reading, Text-To-Speech, Speech
Synthesis, etc. In addition, there is a good supply of
solutions to realize the automatic speech recognition,
speech synthesis and voice mutation, which are based on
phonetic segmentation, pronunciation modeling, meta-
consonant discrimination, language modeling, etc.
However, there remain some intractable problems, which
manifest that those functions cannot match well with the
college English teaching mode.
English listening and speaking ability, in essence,
remain the difficult point of college English teaching
mode, due to lack of the immersion environment and
amounts of English listening and speaking practices. In
conclusion, lacking of accurate and timely evaluations
and feedback, students, needless to say, will lose their
study interests.
With the rapid development of 5G technology and
artificial intelligence technology, an increasing number of
experts and professors, in essence, make a further
research on the development of English teaching and
learning software, especially in English listening and
English speaking, such as CMU Sphinx speech
recognition software, researched and developed by
Carnegie Mellon University.
To put it in a nutshell, in accordance with current
situation of college English, experts and professors, in

essence, make a further research and development on the
functions of college English teaching mode, such as real-
time score, error-tagging, which are based on 5G
technology and artificial intelligence technology. In
addition, this sort of college English teaching mode based
on artificial intelligence technology, in essence, can
promote the development of quality of English listening
and English speaking.
B. The Pertinent Technology of English Reading and
English Writing
In current college English teaching mode,
overwhelming majority of students, needless to say, cling
to the perspective that English reading proves easier than
English writing. Obviously, those students, in essence,
believe that English writing remains complicated and
diverse, which is related to immerse amounts of elements,
such as grammar, words, phrases, sentences, etc. As a
consequence, the development of English reading and
English writing, are supposed to be made a further
research on English reading and writing practices, and the
college English teaching mode, needless to say, has better
to send detailed feedback to teachers and students.
The natural language process technology, in essence,
can be divided into English reading, English writing and
other research fields, such as Word Segmentation, Word
Embeddings, Word Prediction, Word Sense
Disambiguation, Sentiment Analysis, Sentence Boundary
Disambiguation, Semantic Role Labeling, Part-of-speech
Tagging, Paraphrase Detection, Grammatical Error
Correction, Text Similarity, Automated Essay Scoring,
etc. In addition, these research fields, are based on a
variety of technologies, such as word splitting, word
vector modeling, word attribute tag, punctuate, sentence
meaning splitting. At present, AES, in essence, proves an
excellent example of application of varieties of
technologies.
To put it in a nutshell, the paper clings the perspective
that in the teaching process, in college English teaching
system, with the rapid development of 5G technology and
artificial intelligence technology, there seems an useful
software for English reading and English writing, which
can make an accurate and scientific evaluation on the
level of English reading and English writing. On the
whole, it can make a further research and analysis on the
English reading textbook and generate automatically and
scientifically suitable questions to examine students’
English level.

 V. THE OPTIMIZATION STRATEGY OF COLLEGE
ENGLISH TEACHING MODE BASED ON 5G TECHNOLOGY
AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TECHNOLOGY
Compared with conventional teaching mode, the
college English teaching mode based on 5G technology
and artificial intelligence technology, can make the roles
of teachers and students change a lot, therefore, it can
make a big change to the tasks of teachers and students.
Moreover, conventional classroom teaching mode,
proves the teaching mode of teaching, understanding,
practicing and examining, at the same time, it remains
worth noting that teachers, exactly speaking, seems the
center of teaching activities. In current college English
teaching, this kind of model, in essence, can hardly
enhance the interest of students.
The rapid development of artificial intelligence
technology and 5G technology, teachers and students, in
essence, can bear more tasks changing a lot in accordance
with the current society. In recent years, the historical
data about teaching activities and learning situations, in
essence, can be stored in database, which can provide the
college English teaching system based on 5G technology
and artificial intelligence technology with excellent and
optimal support.

Compared with conventional teaching model,

overwhelming majority of students, in essence, can gain
more guidance and evaluations from the college English
teaching mode based on 5G technology and artificial
intelligence technology, which can decrease the workload
of teachers. Due to the college English teaching mode
based on 5G technology and artificial intelligence
technology, students can choose those courses they are
really interested in in accordance with their study cases,
which can make the realization of flexible teaching
purpose set come true. In addition, students, in essence,
can make the full advantage of online teaching resources
to help self-study.
VI. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, cultivating students’ language ability,
in essence, cannot be an easily process, which can be
treated as an evolutionary and persistent process. In the
cultivating process, students, needless to say, have to do a
good supply of English exercises, about listening,
speaking, reading and writing. In addition, the main
difficult point of college English teaching, exactly
speaking, proves how to encourage students to study
automatically and how to provide the excellent teaching
and learning feedback to teachers. The paper comes up
with a novel optimal strategy of college English teaching
