Frida Kahlo, born on July 6, 1907 in Coyoacán, Mexico, and


died on July 13, 1954, is a twentieth-century Mexican painter,
who is world-renowned for her emotional and symbolic self-
portraits. Her life marked by physical and emotional suffering
degraded her art, bringing to light themes such as pain, identity
and the female condition. Frida created a unique artistic style
characterized by bright colors, traditional Mexican motifs and
powerful symbols. Her artistic legacy and commitment to self-
expression continues to inspire generations of admirers around
the world.

We chose to feature Frida Kahlo because she is an


extraordinary artistic and feminist figure who was able to
transform her pain into a powerful artistic expression. Her
personal story and commitment to exploring identity, suffering
and womanhood make her an inspiration. We were also
fascinated by her strength, resilience and ability to reinvent
herself despite the hardships she has endured. Her art is a
vibrant testament to her life experience and unique worldview,
and it continues to touch and inspire generations of people
around the world.
