Years 9 and 10 Computer Science – Home Learning Guide.

From next week, you will be sent an invitation to attend a Teams meeting at your normal lesson
time. You are expected to work as closely to your normal timetable as possible. However, this may
not always be possible as you may need to share a device with other family members. I will
therefore record the lesson and it will be put on SMHW for you in case you have missed it. I will be
available throughout the duration of your normal lesson to answer questions via email: hwhite-
overton@parkhouseschool.org. I will also be available to support you at other times but may not
always be able to answer your questions immediately. Please note that I do not work on Tuesdays,
so I will respond to any emails I receive then on the following day.

All work including PowerPoints will be posted on Show My Homework before the lesson. If you
have any problem accessing anything, please let me know asap?

Using Python from home

There are two ways of using Python from home which is to either download Python onto a laptop or
desktop computer or to use web-based compiler. Either will allow you to be able to complete the
programming tasks that will be set for you.

DOWNLOADING PYTHON
If you wish to download Python, Google Python Download, and click on the link.

You should pick the latest version of Python if you can, but you may need to pick an earlier version if
you have older technology.
Once you have downloaded this, click the install button:

Python will now be installed.

USING A WEB-BASED COMPILER

If you would prefer not to install Python you can use a web compiler such as REPL.IT
