The Tree Triumphs an Award in ASPC

Palompon, Leyte One campus journalist from SSES won an award during the Area IV
Schools Press Conference held on March 11 – 12 at Palompon South Central School, Palompon
South District.
The theme of this activity is “Campus Journalism in the MATATAG Era: Breaking Down
Barriers of Isolation, Indifference, and Mediocrity; Building Up Support for Inclusion
Collaboration, and Excellence.” It teaches about Journalism which demonstrates an
understanding of its importance, recognizes the role of Journalism in advocating social
consciousness and environmental awareness, promotes fair and ethical use of media, fosters
camaraderie and enriches learning experiences, and provides learners opportunities.
In the history of SSES, it was the first time that the school received an award at the area
level.
Mary Jean I. Obado won 6 th place in the Feature Writing in Filipino. She will be
competing in the Division Schools Press Conference on March 21 – 24 at Abuyog, Leyte.
The young journalist and the coach brought home the bacon and with beautiful smiles
on their faces.
