ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
SY 2018-2019

Introduction

School paper is an immense avenue where learners and teachers can share,
express, and publish their ideas, insights, opinions, concepts as well as current
events happening in the school and community which are informative and
educational related. It is an excellent thoroughfare in honing the learners’ skill
in writing to become a future journalist of their generation. Moreover, reading
makes a full man, conference a ready man and writing a ready man- writer-
enthusiast.

The provision of school publication facilities made the school paper feasible
enough to be one of the greatest accomplishments of the school. Parents-
Teachers Association plays a vital role in the realization of the school paper by
showcasing full support and dedication. For SY 2018-2019, the school paper is
published to showcase the achievements of the learners, teachers and the
school as we are one to share “THE AVANCEÑAN PRIDE” to the stakeholders.

Accomplishments
1. Well-maintained and functional School Publication Room with equipment
and facilities.
2. Repaired computers and printers used in the publication of school paper.
3. Organized and met editorial staff and personnel every month or as the
need arises.
4. Conducted refresher course for writers and contributors.
5. Published 4000 copies of the paper.
6. Distributed copies to all concerned
7. Generated financial support from parents through the PTA for the
publication of the paper.

Problems Encountered:
1. Delayed in the publication due to volume.
2. Overlapping of schedules of editorial staff

1. Preparation of articles must be edited and checked earlier so not to delay

the publication.
2. Timeline of activities must be strictly followed.
3. Conduct meetings during weekend and holidays to avoid conflict of
schedules.

Despite the challenges encountered, the school paper must be continued

because through this, learners can practice their writing and journalistic skills.
With the support of stakeholders and other entities, the school paper will
continue to uphold its vision of fair, just and responsible journalism. Likewise,
the collaborative efforts of the writers, moderators and contributors has marked
a milestone in the success of The Avanceñan Pride.

Introduction

The Avanceňan Pride continues its prestige to share school accomplishments

with its yearly publication. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the school was able
to publish the material with the support funds from the PTA.

The sustainability of the school paper was further improved with the
cooperation of the editorial staff and learners who have prowess in writing news
and articles. Through the Avanceňan Pride, the learners practiced their skills of
writing and journalism.

Accomplishments
1. Conducted orientation to Editorial Staff and English Teachers.
2. Conducted training on technical writing to all staff and contributors.
3. Participated in the Press Conferences.
4. Submitted Report as required.
5. Published and distributed 5000 copies of school paper.

Problems Encountered:
The COVID-19 pandemic hindered the last quarter of school publication
however, the reproduction was expedite and accomplished with the cooperation
of all concerned.

Recommendation and Sustainability

As the school publication contributed to the development of writing and
journalistic skills of the learners it will be continued despite the pandemic
because the full support of the parents are always with the school.
