Understanding Goals of the course

What factors does a reflective practitioner need to consider to improve his/her practice and
student performance?

A reflective practitioner needs to consider several factors to achieve a better practice. First,
needs to know that perfection does not exist but it is possible to improve his/her practice and it
will take not short time, but surely long time taking into account that everything is a process in
which he or she follows steps according to their experiences and coming ideas. Another very
important factor is that the practitioner is a thoughtful person and in this order, he or she needs
to be more conscious of his/her practice and realizes what is doing good or what is working in
the class and what is doing not so good or doing wrongly to be able to change what he/she
considers to change.

• How can teachers use reflection and collegial collaboration to improve their practice and
student performance?

A teacher can use reflection by analyzing his/her mistakes in the class for next time he/she
doesn’t make the same ones and also by trying to find possible solutions to a problem given in
the class.

Teachers can use collegial collaboration to improve their practice sharing new ideas with their
colleagues and inquiring about possible solutions to a situation they are facing.

• Why is it important to become a reflective practitioner?

I think it is important because only in this way the teacher or the practitioner can reach the
student achievement and lead them to a better understanding and learning of contents.

• How can teachers’ reflections be verbalized and translated into effective practice?

I’m not sure.
