    Problem Operation Cause Remark

    No Water
    Handle operation is easy Pump-rods are disconnected Pull out all pump-rods and replace broken and corroded rods
    Handle operation is difficult Riser pipe is disconnected Pull out complete rising main, repair/ replace pipes
    Hand operatio is normal Cup seal is defect Replace seal
    Borhole is clocked (silt or sand Rehabilitaion of borehole
