Symptom

Long runtimes occur during the rescheduling run (report SDV03V02, transaction V_V2).

Environment

SAP ERP - Release independent

Cause

Runtime of Program SDV03V02 is slow due to the size of the table VAPMA. There are too many entries in
this table. The size of table VAPMA directly influences the length of the runtime.

Resolution

There are some ways in which VAPMA can be optimized to help performance.

1. The number of order items, including completed ones, are taken into account during rescheduling, so
please ensure that old orders are archived off the system.
2. Distribute the worklist to several rescheduling runs and carry them out in parallel to achieve a
performance improvement. Please review question 5 in SAP note 549064.
3. Another option to improve the performance is to use the ATP server. This is a server dedicated to the
ATP check where ATP requirements are stored in the buffer, resulting in a quicker ATP check. Please
review attached note 99999 for information on setting up the ATP server.

Keywords
