Symptom

• How to regenerate the SPL index in GTS.

• Steps needed to regenerate the Sanction Party List(SPL) index in Global Trade Services.
• Long runtime when transferring business partners from ERP to GTS.

Environment

• Compliance Management
• Global Trade Services / Logistics Services (SLL)
• SAP Global Trade Services (GTS)

Cause

Transfer of Business partners can trigger synchronous SPL screening. If there is no SPL index available at
the runtime, this can trigger system to generate indexes during screening which can cause performance
issues. To improve performance, regenerate the indexes.

Resolution

As outlined in note 865433, whenever a change is made to the SPL customising or Comparison index and/or
new SPL data is added, the relevant index must be regenerated.
To do this, the following steps should be performed:

1. Reset Customising and Application Buffers:

Transaction: /SAPSLL/SPL_RESET (Program: /SAPSLL/SPL_CUS_APP_BUFF_RESET)
2. Generate Comparison Index for SPL:
Transaction: /SAPSLL/SPL_ST01 (Program: /SAPSLL/SPL_CREATE_SEARCHTERMS)
3. Aggregate Comparison Terms:
Transaction: /SAPSLL/SPL_ID01 (Program: /SAPSLL/SPL_INDEX_CREATE)
4. Generate Comparison Terms for Business Partners: *
Transaction: /SAPSLL/SPL_STBP (Program: /SAPSLL/SPL_CREATE_SEARCHTADRC)
5. If TREX is active then Transfer Full Comparison Terms to TREX:
Transaction: /SAPSLL/SPL_STTREX (Program: /SAPSLL/SEARCHTERMS_LOAD_TREX) WITHOUT
Delta index flag set
6. If running the C screening SPL scenarios (Check against Updated SPL) with the 'Use delta Index' flag

set then it is also necessary to transfer the delta index to TREX in addition to Step 5.
Transaction: /SAPSLL/SPL_STTREX (Program: /SAPSLL/SEARCHTERMS_LOAD_TREX) WITH
Delta index flag set and the SPL Update date/date range entered.

* Step 4 is not required when new SPL master data is added however it is required when any SPL
customising is changed.
