Act 1:

(Sarah is playing in her backyard with her puppy. She tosses a ball, and the puppy happily
fetches it.)

Sarah: (laughing) Good boy, Max! You're the best puppy ever!

(Suddenly, the puppy runs off, chasing a butterfly.)

Sarah: Max, come back! Oh no, he's gone!

(Sarah looks around frantically, calling for the puppy.)

Act 2:

(Emma enters the scene.)

Emma: Sarah, what's wrong? Why do you look so sad?

Sarah: (tearfully) Max ran away! I can't find him anywhere!

Emma: Don't worry, Sarah. We'll find him. Let's go ask Mrs. Johnson if she's seen him.

(Sarah and Emma run to Mrs. Johnson's house.)

Act 3:

(Mrs. Johnson is watering her flowers.)

Sarah: Mrs. Johnson, have you seen my puppy? He ran away, and I can't find him anywhere!

Mrs. Johnson: Oh dear, let me help you look for him. What does he look like?
Sarah: He's small and brown, with floppy ears and a wagging tail.

Mrs. Johnson: I'll keep an eye out for him, Sarah. Don't worry, we'll find him.

Act 4:

(Sarah and Emma continue searching the neighborhood. Max, the brother, enters.)

Max: Sarah, Emma, what are you doing?

Sarah: Max ran away, and we're trying to find him!

Max: (chuckling) Sarah, Max is right here!

(Max points to the backyard, where the puppy is happily playing with a butterfly.)

Sarah: (relieved) Max, you silly puppy! You had me so worried!

(Sarah hugs the puppy tightly.)

Emma: (laughing) Looks like Max found himself!

Act 5:

(The characters laugh and play with the puppy in the backyard.)

Sarah: I'm so glad you're safe, Max. I don't know what I would do without you!

(The characters share a group hug as the curtain falls.

This short drama is simple, engaging, and suitable for grade 3 children. It teaches the importance
of friendship, teamwork, and problem-solving.
