Materials
● 22 needle knitting machine such as “Sentro” or Addi
● Worsted weight yarn (less than 1 skein)
● Yarn Needle
● H Hook
● Poly Fil
● Scissors
● Stitch Marker

Abbreviations

● MC: Magic Circle
● SC: Single Crochet

● Inc: Increase (Sc twice in the same St)

Start with your black needle to the left of the yarn feeder.

Thread yarn on to the machine starting with black needle. Go in front of black needle
then behind. Alternate front to back around until your black needle is back to the right of the
yarn feeder.

Place yarn through the yarn feeder and in the loosest tension ring.

Complete 80 rows. Stop when black needle is to the left of the yarn feeder.

Remove yarn from feeder dropping it behind the white needle as pictured.

Slowly crank about a quarter of the way around.

Turn your machine so your crank is in front of you. Thread your needle.

Start picking up stitches with your needle starting with the stitch directly to the left of your
tail.

Pick up stitches cranking handle occasionally to release upcoming attached stitches.

One stitch is left on the machine. Pick up last stitch with your needle.

Remove your tube from your machine. Pull drawstring to close.

Thread your needle back through the closed opening. Tug on string to pull half of tube
“inside out”.

Pull your strings tight and double knot them to secure.

Flip your work inside out so the strings are on the inside. Trim strings.

Cut a long piece of string (about 12 inches or so…) and thread your needle. Grab a
handful of poly fil.

Push your handful of stuffing to the top to form your bear’s head.

Make a running stitch in approximately the 15th round from the top.

Tie a tight knot then flip your work and do the same on the back side.

Thread your tails to the inside of your work and trim if desired.

Grab a large handful of poly fil and stuff the bear’s body.

Turn your work upside down. Take a long piece of yarn (approximately 24 in.) and
thread through the center (about 7 rounds down). Push your needle through to the backside of
your work.

Evenly distribute your yarn on both sides.

Tie a tight knot in the center with your tails to create the center of the legs.

Sew the legs closed using the center tails.

To start defining the arms, cut another long piece of yarn, 12 inches or so and thread it
through the bear’s body, just below the head about 2 rows right or left of the center.

Stitch down the body pulling your yarn needle all the way through the front and the back
of your work. Once you’re about half way down the body take the tail and wrap it around the
side and run your needle back to the front and pull tight.

Stitch back up to the head. Knot off and hide your tails in the body. Repeat for the
same steps for the other arm.

Stitch eyes above the nose. Stitch across 3 times for each eye.

Rnd 1: 6 SC in MC (6)
Rnd 2: [Inc] 6 times (12)
Rnd 3: [Sc in 5, Inc] 2 times (14)
Rnd 4: Sc in each st of rnd (14).

Leave a long tail for stitching ear together and attaching to head.
