INT. NICK'S CAR - NIGHT

Dean Martin's Mambo Italiano plays over the car radio. NICK
45, slicked back black hair, wearing an expensive classy
black suit, turns and smiles to his wife MARIE 39, wearing a
tight red dress, playing with her pearl necklace.

MARIE
When are we gonna eat Nicky? I'm
hungry.

NICK
I told you when I'm done with work.

MARIE
So I get to starve because you got
called in this late.

NICK
Look sweetie, they called me because
they knew i could handle it. Now we'll
just be quiet and let me work, huh?

Nick pulls the car off the road in the middle of nowhere.

EXT. DESERT ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF LAS VEGAS - NIGHT

Nick gets out of car and smiles back at Marie. She rolls her
eyes at him. Nick blows her a kiss, Marie giggles and
blushes.

MARIE
Just make it quick.

NICK
We'll be eating at Bella's before you
know it.

Nick closes the door and walks to the trunk. Nick opens the
trunk to finds EDDY tied with ropes and a cloth over his
mouth.

NICK
You really messed up this time Eddy.

Nick pulls him out of the trunk and grabs a shovel. Nick
points a GUN at Eddy's back.

NICK
Alright start walking.

Nick and Eddy walk to a near by dead tree.

NICK
This looks like a good place. Start
digging.

Nick releases Eddy's hands and throws the shovel at his feet.
Eddy hesitantly picks it up and slowly starts digging.

MARIE(O.S)
Nicky, hurry it up I'm hungry

Nick turns back to look at the car.

NICK
Sweetie, I'm working here.

MARIE
Your work is going to ruin this
Valentine's dinner if you don't hurry.

Eddy tries to speak but its muffled.

NICK
What do you know?

MARIE
We have reservations.

NICK
Since when?

MARIE
Since last week when I told you to
make them. You did make them right?

NICK
Ugghh...

Eddy tries to speak again, but nick points a gun at him. Eddy
starts digging again.

MARIE
Oh Nicky, how could you. It's gonna be
impossible to eat anywhere tonight
without reservations.

NICK
Look its fine. Isn't that right
Eddy?....Eddy?

Nick turns around to see Eddy running off into the desert.

NICK
Oh great look at what you did now
Marie.

Nick starts to chase him.

MARIE
Hurry it up, I'm wasting away to
nothing over here.

A gunshot is heard of screen, followed by a thud.

INT. NICK'S CAR - NIGHT

Marie is fixing her make up in the mirror, when Nick gets

back in the car. Nick is covered in dirt and his hair is
messed up.

MARIE
Oh look at you. They're never gonna
let you into Bella's like that. Not
that we even have reservations.

NICK
About that, I've been thinking.

MARIE
That's dangerous.

NICK
Would you let me finish. I was
thinking we stay in tonight, I'll cook
dinner, run you bath with roses, and
we can just listen to the radio.

MARIE
That does sound nice. Reminds me of
when we were dating. Okay it's a date.

Nick leans over and kisses her. He reaches behind Marie's

seat and pulls out a bouquet of roses.

MARIE
Oh Nicky, how sweet.

Nick places his arm around her, and Marie lays her head on
his chest. The two drive off into the full moon. Dean
Martin's That's Amore begins to play.
