ASSIGNMENT BACKGROUND AND DESCRIPTION

In order to complete this assignment successfully, you will need to develop a project
charter. You may use the Internet to research a case for your project proposal, but you must cite
your sources. The scope of your project proposal needs to be large enough and have enough
complexity to be able to be used to assess your project management abilities as outlined in the
learning outcomes of the course outline. It also needs to be large enough to justify the need for a
project team consisting of three-four people. Each team will create and submit a unique project
charter which needs to be a new project, or a substantially different project than what you may
have done previously. Please be sure to email your project idea to your professor before you
continue with the assignment.

HIGH-LEVEL REQUIREMENTS

Business Case
Tiny Camping Trailers

The German company Kuckoo Camper has developed a new style of the mini trailer called Bruno.
It is not merely a reduced model, but it is much more environmentally friendly and sustainable. It
incorporates some of our favorite RV features into a towed all-weather cabin. Highlights
incorporate a roof divided into a lookout deck and a window to the sky, an indoor/outdoor sliding
kitchen, and a compact, modern interior that organizes everything.

Kuckoo explain that the Bruno is not a teardrop trailer, but a square drop trailer, a designing choice
that is integral to the Bruno floor plan. The company affirms that it is not quite as hard-edged and
off-road-focused as the conventional American or Australian square drop, that they have featured
in the past, but it is an all-terrain style designed for road and trail travel. Recognizing that outdoor
cooking is a part of the tear/square drop allure, Kuckoo creates an indoor/outdoor unit centered on
a slide. A forward-sliding workshop built into the kitchen's body complements the small counter on
the left and the sink cover.

Three large real glass windows 800 450 mm with roller shutters and insect protection, pull-out
kitchen drawer 1,170 330 mm with shelves for wine glasses, spice jars, and cups in the kitchen
frame, functional shelves in the entrance door, Dometic forced ventilation, three cupboards with
flap and magnetic lock, shelves, and carpeting in the interior. (Weiss, 2021)

As standard, the necessary equipment includes a power kit (12V / 230V) and an exterior and
interior light. Other hardware kits, such as a solar system or an inverter, may be mounted in
addition to the standard equipment upon request. (https://www.kuckoo-camper.de/modelle/model-

The business chose environmentally friendly materials, due to the fact that the whole trailer is made of
wood and the interior is just oiled. The outer skin is reinforced with epoxy resin and fiberglass and has a
tough PU coating. Each vehicle is a one-of-a-kind and handmade.

The other big highlight of the Bruno is the available roof rack that doubles as a rooftop terrace. The
full-length rack even includes a retractable front panel that clears the available skylight for starlight
views.

Bruno is approx. 4.45 m long, 1.85 m high, and 1.94 m wide. In the basic configuration, it weighs
approximately 530 kg. The lying area is 2 × 1.4 m. Bruno is available as standard on a braked
chassis with a 100 km / h approval on request. (https://www.kuckoo-camper.de/modelle/model-

In addition to the 79 x 55-in (200 x 140-cm) sleeping area and kitchen counter, the interior includes
overhead cabinetry and storage cubbies with retention cords, a headboard storage cabinet.

Project Charter
The charter must include all the elements in section 4.1.3 of the PMBOK. Remember that your
charter must convince the project sponsors to approve the project, so you should make the
strongest case possible. You must use the charter template from the Book of Forms as a starting
point but may tailor it (add components) to better suite your specific case scenario.
7

Assumption Log
You also need to include an assumption log. At this point, the assumption log will contain any
assumptions you have had to make in order to create your charter. The assumptions need to be
clearly stated and be actionable. The actions should be assignable as tasks to those responsible
for the assumption.
8

Group Activity Log

All group members must contribute equally to the assignment submission. Please see the
assignment rubric for tools that can be used to demonstrate group participation.
