Ultimately a wide range of methods and procedures for addressing conflict exist including
negotiation, mediation, diplomacy, and creative peace building. One of the purposes of
government is to help resolve conflicts. Conflicts about political issues, such as spending for
public purposes, are resolved by elections. We elect representatives to make decisions to
resolve conflicts for us. Courts are established to help resolve issues of responsibility and
justice.
