Telehealth – delivering care with the use of digital information and communication

technologies such as computers, tablets, and smartphones from a medical office or

mobile van and using them to improve or support health care services provided by
nurses and medical professionals

2. What is your vision for the future of nursing based on the current trend you’ve
found?
Since we are all recovering from the pandemic, we’ve experienced it, and I’ve
chosen telehealth as the current trend in nursing. Well, given the recent significant
developments in the healthcare industry, it should come as no surprise that it has
also become a trend in nursing. Many nurses today are tasked to provide care
remotely, whether as part of a full-time job or as part of an in-person nursing job.
According to the CDC, telehealth visits increased by 154% from 2019 to 2020, and
nurses have been integral in making this transition smooth. Educating patients,
acquiring data, and triaging patients are all standard responsibilities of telehealth
nurses. Nurses working in telehealth provide patients with high-quality treatment
without requiring them to leave their homes, which can cut expenses and stop the
spread of disease. It also makes it easier to see patients who are reluctant to see a
doctor. Based on this data, I am confident that Telehealth will advance and
improve its services, allowing more people to access healthcare services even in
rural areas where there are no hospitals or clinics.

3. What do you think is the most relevant factor for the future of nursing?
The most relevant factor for the future of nursing is the number of student nurses
and competent fresh nursing graduates as we need more workforce to provide
quality care for patients. Aside from that, I believe what Dr. Rizal said: "The youth
is the hope of our country," and in nursing, the student nurses and fresh nursing
graduates are the hope of not just our countrymen but the future of nursing.
