1. What are the major differences between individualism and collectivism?

-The major difference between individualism and collectivism is Individualism stresses individual goals
and the rights of the individual person while the Collectivism focuses on group goals, what is best for the
collective group, and personal relationships.

2. Does Western perspective discount the role of environment and society in the formation of the self?

-Yes because especially politically in my aspect the Western perspective is different in Asian perspective,
moreover in society and this is handled by their presidents that has poor cooperation in handling proper
rights in the society like serious topics of rape, racism, abuse and etc.

3. Does Western perspective see the person as part of yourself, as well as the things you may create?

- As a universal rule a human being any human being in the west or in the east, shall be seen by the
people both based on the things the person creates as you put it, but also on the person’s roots and
relations with those who are judging and that’s what we all do, whether east or west.

4. What is the difference between Americans and Asians when it comes to describing themselves?

- Asian cultures usually practice high-context communication through the use of non-verbal elements
such as body language, tone of voice and a person's status. Whereas in the American culture,
information is communicated primarily through spoken language and rules are spelled out, reflecting
low-context communication and that is the difference between them.
