Basic Rigsense Troubleshooting

The following procedure is recommended to be done in the following sequence.

1. Go to Rigsense Database Utility – Go to Start > MD Totco Tools >


Rigsense DB Utils.

User: db2admin
Password: trustno1.
Click ‘Enter/Clear’ after credentials have been entered.
When entered, the user and password fields will become blank.

2. Kill all tasks – Click on the ‘KILL Tasks’ tab and click ‘KILL ALL
Rigsense Applications’ button until all processes have been stopped.

The ‘Kill Tasks’ procedure is successful when you see a command line
‘sqlCode =0’ (as per the example above)

3. Bind the plans – Click on the ‘Bind Plans’ tab and click ‘Bind Plans’

Binding is successful when you see a command line ‘Binding Complete’.

4. Register component – Ensure Rigsense Application is not running (use


hotkey ‘Ctrl’ + ‘Alt’ + ‘S’ to shut down Rigsense program)

Go to Start > MD Totco Tools > Field Utility and click on ‘Reg
Components’ button. (Password: trustno1). Click ‘Yes’ on the pop-up
after ensuring Rigsense Application is not running.

If you could not locate the shortcut to the ‘Field Utility’, you can go to Start
> Run > type in ‘d:\nttracer\RegServerComponents /s’ (without quotes)
and hit ‘Enter’. That will register components on the server. Click ‘OK’ on
the pop-up once completed.

5. Run install.bat – Either use the hotkey ‘Ctrl’ + ‘Alt’ + ‘I’. Click ‘OK’ on the
pop-up once completed.

6. Clear the RS temp files – Go to Start > MD Totco Tools > Field Utility
and click ‘Clear RS Tmp Files’. (Password: trustno1)

If you could not locate the shortcut to the ‘Field Utility’, you can open a CMD
Prompt and navigate to the ‘D:\’ directory, then type ‘del /s *.tmp’ without
quotes. This will delete all .tmp files from the D drive.

OR

7. Delete Persist Files – Go to Start > MD Totco Tools > Field Utility and
click ‘Delete Persist Files’. (Password: trustno1)

If you could not locate the shortcut to the ‘Field Utility’, you can open
directory ‘D:\NTTracer\display\screens\persist’ from Windows Explorer and
delete all the files in this folder
*Deleting these files will erase all changes made to ALL the screens on the
machine.

OR

Delete all
files in this
directory

Restart Rigsense application by using the hotkey ‘Ctrl’ + ‘Alt’ + ‘R’ – You don’t
need to restart the AppSvr machine itself.
