How do these challenges affect the efficiency and effectiveness as a staff?

- It is very important to be efficient in using English language because wrong construction

of a letter, for example, can lead to miscommunication.
- For example, here at the library, everyone is our customer, even the outside clients,
especially the professionals. Sometimes there are clients who are very professional in
communicating, wherein they speak English fluently. Because of that, I seem to be
conscious of communicating because I always use Tagalog and English when talking. So
that seems to be a problem for me as a professional staff.
- Well I don’t see any affection or any effect when it comes to these challenges because
for me, I took it as a great advantage on how I am going to project myself and it is for me
to do my job really well on how I am going to enhance my self in terms of working in my
working environment. And for me, it is just a self-motivation on how you are going to
deliver yourself in front of the people.
- I find it difficult to give instructions in an instant.
- So I guess efficiency, well, we need to do it immediately because if not, it would be
difficult to have a counseling session, and when it comes to effectiveness, it's not much
of a challenge to bear, and I can do it. It's not totally a challenge because doing this work
for about 6 years has molded me into how I can do it. When it was probably 1 to 2 years
starting, it was difficult, but right now I guess it's manageable.

What strategies have you used in the past to improve your English language skills, and how
successful were they? (Provide example of strategy, like word of the day.)

- In my part, I like watching foreign films.

- The respondent said that the strategies that can help her improve her English language
skills is practicing. According to her, she believed that the only way to master a specific
language (not only english) is to practice it again. Because the speaker wo'nt be
confident in speaking a specific language fluently if a speaker is not going to practice it.
- As what the respondent have said, his long-term goals in delivering English language
skills is just to continue how he'll be going to speak in English language in front of the
people.
- Does reading books count? Example: I use reading as an exercise. Well, when I was in
college, I remember keeping on reading books—not just normal books that you see in a
normal bookstore but like novels. Because I use such words as fathom and different
English words, I think I can use different words. At the same time, I work in another
country, so it also helps because I have to teach purely English to those people.
- I like watching movies and animes that has subtitles.
- I'm much engaged on reading, although I feel like I outgrew it because there's a lot of
things that I have to do but still if given a chance and motivation, I would still choose
reading— not just textbooks but different literatures such as learning materials
o I practice at home since my child watches YouTube videos that push him/her to
speak in the second language— children nowadays are like that, they are much
more advanced. And so, I also use English when at home.

How did these strategies affect your use of the English language?
- It really helps in a way that your listening skills and construction of grammar can
be developed.

- I became more fluent and confident.

- I learn new vocabularies and unfamiliar words— also being able to
determine where and when to use it
- I am able to honed my reading skills, listening skills and my understanding of English.

and because I took a master's degree, I had to use the learning I had at that
time.

- Just like what I said earlier, watching foreign films can positively affect my
English language.
- As situated by the respondent, the habits that positively affects her usage of English
Language is that her daily use of English language while communicating with her peers
practices her English Language skill

- This is fun. Do you watch K-drama? The English subtitles help us practice

by reading the English subtitles, it helps me to respond, and at the same

become an English teacher and thinking of undergoing on a training as she is confident
in speaking skills particularly the English language. Additionally, it still needs to enhance
for the level of ESL which has a certain level but she's only thinking on the specific like
second courses, program or free courses as just only a trainings.
- For me, my long-term goals in delivering English language skills is just continuing how
are you going to speak fluent in English language specifically in front of the people.
Because we all know English is our mother tongue, and it is just basically one of the
necessary language that you have to learn when it comes to communicating. Because,
you know, English is too universal.
- I think I don't have any long time goals

- will continue doing some research because I am good at writing. Also, it is my sideline
outside my profession. Those kind of part-time job have been a great help for me to
develop my English proficiency.

- I guess this work because the work that I have really helps me because I have to make
programs, counseling, and book reports. It helps me in practicing or enhancing my skills
because without English, some people will not be able to understand. How can I help a
student, for example, while we are referring to psychology? How can I explain it
properly in a manner of being professional in English?

Are you considering taking English courses to improve your English Language
skills?

- I don’t have the time now but yes; I am considering taking English courses if given a
chance.
- Yes, If there’s any, why not? It helps a lot.
- Probably yes, especially if I wanted to work in another country again. I would have to
practice more, and of course, I have to meet their standards for me to be able to work
there.
- It's enough for me to do my day-to-day work and the sideline I'm working on to
improve my English skills. Also, I wanted to improve it because I'm not very good at it,
so I'm doing ways like becoming an emcee to help me with that. I think that by doing
so, I will be able to develop skills in which I am lacking. Moreover, I'm not interested in
taking those English courses, and it's alright for me if I learn from the experience.
- I'm already taking online courses. However, it was more on optional wherein I can
browseit when I already have time since it already provides video formats and learning
materials.
