CHECKLIST: PART 1

INSTRUCTIONS: Each time you design a pin, make sure you send out a
winner! Use the checklist to determine if your basics are in place!

✔ VERTICAL PIN WITH A 2:3 ASPECT RATIO


Design a pin that is taller than it is wide. A good size is 1000*1500
px. The standard Canva size also works well.

✔ WARM BACKGROUND COLOUR


When adding text overlay on your pin, be sure to work with warm
colours/palettes such as red, orange, yellow.

✔ COMPELLING DESCRIPTION
Write down in a natural manner what a layman can expect to learn
from the post. Adding a hint of mystery or a CTA helps.

✔ RELEVANT KEYWORDS
You know by now that keywords can make or break your ranking.
Be sure to have a list ready to go. Save them to your notes app or
write them down, but don't forget to add them to your pin
description.

INSTRUCTIONS: Each time you design a pin, make sure you send out a

✔ TEXT OVERLAY
Simply sharing photos is not enough as a pin. Clear and prominent
text is always a good idea.

✔ HIGH-QUALITY IMAGE(S)
Use the free Canva, Pixabay or Unsplash images to add some
flavour to your pin. Using your own photos is good too.

✔ RESEARCHED HASHTAGS
Add 5-10 hashtags to your pin that are most relevant to your pin
category, title and post.

✔ CLICK-WORTHY HEADLINE
The most critical thing you can do is to work on a headline that
people want to click on. Test 2-3 pins with different headlines and
pick the one that works best.
