LESSON 7C- LISTENING: POETRY IN MOTION

I. OBJECTIVES

By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to:

1. Knowledge

- Analyze and appreciate a palindrome poem, focusing on its thematic elements.

- Employ exam strategies for listening, particularly focusing on implication and subtext
in conversations.

- Recognize and understand implied opinions in spoken discourse, especially in


discussions about poetry.

2. Competences

- Demonstrate proficiency in understanding and interpreting poems, with an emphasis on


the theme of a generation's responsibility for its future.

- Apply listening skills to discern implied opinions and subtext in various contexts.

- Engage in discussions about poetry, offering well-reasoned opinions on different


aspects.

- Exhibit critical thinking and creativity in analyzing and discussing palindrome poems.

- Develop a deeper appreciation for the nuanced elements of poetry, including


implication and subtext.

III. PROCEDURES

1. ACTIVITY 1: LEAD-IN (5 mins)

a. Objectives:

- Introduce the new lesson and set the scene for Ss to acquire new language.

- Get students' attention at the beginning of the class.

- Activate students’ background knowledge.

- Students can gain more confidence and interest in the lesson.

b. Content:

- Lead-in.

- Students discuss with their friends.
