XI. SCIOGRAPHY
Q1. In the given space arrange earthen pots of any shape and size to make an interesting looking stable composition. Draw
the composition from interesting angle and show shades and shadows on the composition.

Q2. Make an interesting three dimensional table composition by using 4 cylinders, 2 pyramids. Draw the composition from
interesting angle and show shades and shadows on the composition.
Q3. In the given space arrange three cricket balls, one cricket bat, stumps and a cricket cap to make an interesting, abstract,
stable, three dimensional composition like a still life. Also show the effect of light and shade on the objects. Your
composition should be sufficiently large to fill the drawing space.

Q4.Make a three dimensional composition with 2 bricks and 3 stones of similar size in the space provided. Also show the
effect of light and shadow on it.

Q5.a) Arrange number of cubes of different sizes to create a sense of opening and steps. Show shades and shadow on the
composition.

b) Arrange number of cubes of different sizes to create a sense of opening (door, arch, etc.) and steps leading to the
opening. Show shades and shadow on the objects. Draw a sufficiently large sketch in the given space.

Q6: Arrange 7 cylinders of different heights and diameters on the ground in any pattern. Show shades and shadow on the
composition.

Q7. You have six used automobile tires with you. Make an interesting looking sculpture using them. Draw the sculpture
with shade and shadows as viewed from one of the angles with light falling on it from other angle.

Q8. Create a stable sculpture using four cubes interlocking into each other. Some cubes may be opaque and some may be
transparent. Draw a pencil sketch of the composition and imagining light falling from one of the corners, also show
shades and shadows.

Q9. In the given space, make an interesting three dimensional composition by using four tubes (like tube lights) four bricks,
two wooden planks. Show the effect of light and shade on the composition.

Q10. Using the objects- 3 notebooks, one orange and two walking sticks, create a stable form and draw its view from
interesting angle. Then show the effect of light thrown at your form from the left direction and draw the shadow
cast by it on the ground.

Q11. Three cones are kept inverted on each other with a rectangular plate in between them. The light source is on the
right at angle of 45 degrees. Show the shadow pattern on this 3 dimensional form.

Q12. Arrange a bucket, a tumbler, an earthen pot, a piece of cloth and rectangular box to make an interesting, stable
arrangement like a still life. Draw pencil sketch of the composition showing light and shade in the given space.

Q13 In the given space, make an interesting three dimensional, stable composition by using four cones, two cubes, and
four cylinders. Show the effect of light and shadow on the composition.

Q14.You are given 4 sharpeners, 5 erasers, 4 pencils and 1 pen holder and few wires. Compose them into a three
dimensional geometrical composition to create a hanging sculpture that could enhance the ceiling of child’s study
room. Draw the hanging from one interesting angle.
Q15.On your grandfather’s study desk you find there are 3 thick books, a pair of reading glasses, a magnifying glass, a table
clock and glass of drinking water lying there. You place these objects in a manner to make attractive sculpture like
composition. Draw in pencil only the composition as seen from one of the angles and also show shades and shadows
on it.

Q16. A little boy does not want to eat his breakfast. He decides to make a sculpture on his plate out of the food his mother
has given to him. He has two slices of bread, 1 whole boiled egg, 4 slices of cucumber and two biscuits. His sculpture
stands without support of his hands. Draw the sculpture. Draw shade and shadows on his sculpture if the sunlight
falls on it from the left.
