1. The origin of Vietnamese silk


 first originated from China
 the Chinese emperor Xiamen discovered the process of
producing silk from silkworms around 2700 BC
 In the reign of the 6th Hung King, Princess Thieu Hoa was
the first to initiate weaving this type of fabric.
 Van Phuc silk village in Hanoi is a famous name when
mentioning silk today

2. Production process of Vietnamese silk

Silk production process includes 5 main stages


1.Plant mulberry and raise silkworm
2.Release silk thread to make cocoons
3.Spin thread
4.Weave silk
5.Dye silk

a.Silk fabric's advantages
 Silk has a certain thinness to it and is shiny, smooth, and

soft.
 The fabric is highly absorbent and capable of controlling

temperature
 Resistant to heat.

 The natural components of silk are totally safe for the skin.

 Users are safe and the production process is not harmful to

the environment.

b.Silk fabric's drawbacks


 Biting insects and weevils is a common occurrence when

raising silkworms.
 It turns yellow easily when it gets wet.

 It comes from nature and is hard to dye.

 Its elasticity is inferior to that of certain other textiles.
