Order Of Operations

1. Create a Material list with the blueprint given by the teacher.

2. Go to the wood rack and pick a piece of wood that would have about four ½” width.

3. Take the piece of wood to the miter saw to cut it into the right length twenty-one.” (x2)

4. Joint one face on the jointer (twice)

5. Go to the wood rack to find a piece of wood that is about eight” width.

6. Go to the miter saw to cut it to an approximate length which is around twelve” long.

7. Joint one face on the jointer again

8. Joint one of the edges that is 90 degrees to the jointed face again.

9. Take all three pieces to the thickness planer to get them to the right thickness which is ¾.

10. Take the two pieces that have the width of around four ½” to the table saw to get them to the
right width.

11. Set the table saw to four” with the rip fence and cut those two pieces.

12. Take those to pieces to the dado saw.

13. Set up the dado saw if needed. (blade and length with rip fence and the height)

14. Use the dado saw to create a dado on both pieces.

15. Set up the table saw to cut 45 degrees angle into two pieces (eleven ½ & seven inches) (x2)

16. Cut plywood to the length and width of the board but subtract an inch from both ends.

17. Tape up the sides to the grain pattern of your liking.

18. Apply glue to all the 45-degree corners.

19. Slide in the plywood into the box

20. Bring all the sides together.


21. Instead of a clamp tape up the corner that needs to dry while the glue dries.

22. Measure your box.

23. Cut your top to those exact length but add ¼ to the length and width.

24. Use the special contraption to give the top a distinctive design with the table saw.

25. Sand the top to remove the saw marks.

26. Design something to cnc on top of the lid

27. Set up the cnc machine.

28. Place the lid in the cnc machine and carve the design.

29. Sand the carved part.

30. Cut eight chips on the band saw that goes in the corners to make the connection stronger (two
on each corner).

31. Glue the eight chips.

32. Use a hand saw to clean up corners of the box.

33. Use the palm sander to remove any excess glue and wood, and to remove the saw marks.

34. Set up the router table to make the feet.

35. Measure the router table with the blocks to ten” to keep a one ½” long feet.

36. Start from right to left but start left this time and let the bit touch the wood, but then after it
touches it, remove it, and start from right to left.

37. Measure the router table with the blocks to five ½” to give a one ½” feet on the sides.

38. Start from right to left but start left this time and let the bit touch the wood, but then after it
touches it, remove it, and start from right to left.

39. Sand the burn marks off the feet while trying not to make a little hump.

40. Burn the wood (optional)


41. Clean the box with a rag.

42. Air blows the rest of the dust off

43. Clear coat the entire box three times and wait 1 day for each clear coat to dry, make sure to sand
of a little bit of bumps with 320 grit sandpaper, and a little sand not a lot as you do not want to
remove the clear coat.
