managed universities. The five top choices were
Rank University Votes

1 A 98

2 B 73

3 C 62

4 D 62

5 E 58

What type of data (level of measurement) is:

a. Company name : A
b. Number of votes : 98
c. Industry : University
d. Rank : 1
e. Discuss the ranks of companies C and D.
When several colleges tie for the top spot in a poll of the best-managed universities, it's critical
to examine the criteria that were applied, offer comprehensive details on the institutions, and
think through the implications and possible interpretations of the rankings' tie. When discussing
the outcomes, historical data and the value of these rankings should also be considered.

f. Is it correct to say that companies D and E are more similar than A and B in terms of
management? Explain.

Companies A and B are placed first and second, in that order. They received the most and
second-most votes, indicating that their evaluation was significantly higher than that of the
other universities. Both companies, D and E, have the same number of votes (62) and are
ranked third. This suggests that they are scored equally in this survey and obtained a
comparable amount of votes. Along with D and E, Company C is ranked third, meaning that it
garnered 62 votes and is evaluated similarly to D and E.2. Thus, it is accurate to state that
companies D and E are more similar to each other in terms of rank and number of votes,
whereas companies A and B are ranked higher and are more distinct in terms of this rating,
based on the number of votes received and their respective ranks.
