Fructosamine Reagent Set
Web: http://htidiagnostics.com
High Technology, Inc. Catalog №
HT-F126E-110
TEST PROCEDURE (AUTOMATED-GENERAL)
INTENDED USE Wavelength: 550nm
This reagent is intended for the quantitative determination of fructosamine in human serum. For in vitro Assay Type: Kinetic with Standard
diagnostic use only. Sample/Reagent Ratio: 1:21
Reaction Direction: Increasing
CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE Temperature: 37°C
The determination of fructosamine is most commonly performed for the evaluation of glycemic control in Lag Time: 600 seconds
diabetes. Fructosamine values provide an indication of glucose levels over the preceding 2-3 weeks. A Read Time: 300 seconds
higher fructosamine value indicates poorer glycemic control. Reference Range: 1.61-2.68 mmol/L
REAGENTS CALIBRATION
Fructosamine Buffer: Carbonate buffer 100mM, pH 10.35 ± 0.1, sodium azide 0.1%. This assay requires the use of a fructosamine calibrator. The calibrator included in the kit is recommended.
Fructosamine Reagent: Nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) 0.57mM, surfactant, non-reactive stabilizers and fillers. The use of a fructosamine calibrator from another source may produce inaccurate results. The procedure
Fructosamine Calibrator: Pooled human serum containing buffers, stabilizers and fillers. should be calibrated according to the instrument manufacturer’s calibration instructions. If control results
are found to be out of range, the procedure should be recalibrated.
REAGENT PREPARATION
Reconstitute the Fructosamine Reagent with the amount of Fructosamine Buffer specified on the vial label. QUALITY CONTROL
Swirl gently to dissolve. Serum controls with known normal and abnormal fructosamine values should be run routinely to monitor
The Fructosamine Calibrator is supplied as a liquid stable, serum based product. It is ready to use upon the validity of the reaction. These controls should be run at least with every working shift in which
opening. fructosamine determinations are performed. It is strongly recommended that each laboratory establish their
own frequency of control determination.
REAGENT STORAGE AND STABILITY
1. Unreconsitituted buffer, reagents and calibrators are stable until the expiration date on the kit label when EXPECTED VALUES
stored at 2-8°C. 1.61 – 2.68 mmol/L14
2. Upon reconstitution, the reagent should be stored at 2-8°C for best results. It is strongly recommended that each laboratory establish its own normal range.
3. Reconstituted reagent is stable for 7 days if stored at room temperature (15 - 25°C) or 30 days if stored
refrigerated (2-8°C). REAGENT PERFORMANCE
4. After opening, calibrator is stable for 30 days stored at 2-8°C. Assay Range: 1.0 – 8.5 mmol/L. Assay ranges for other analyzers may vary and must be validated.
Correlation: Results obtained with this reagent (y), in 45 samples ranging in fructosamine from 1.17-5.94
PRECAUTIONS mmol/L, were compared with those obtained in the same samples using a reagent (x) based on the same

2. Do not use reagents past their expiration date stated on each reagent container label. Err of Y Est = 0.19).
3. Do not pipette by mouth. Avoid ingestion and contact with skin. Precision: Precision studies were performed following a modification of the procedure contained in NCCLS
