1 GENERAL
This document is a supplement for the BMW Group Standard GS 95024-2-1, date 2010-01 and GS 95024-2-2, date
2011-02.
This supplement is needed because the electrical and functional requirements for the supply line terminal 15 (T.15)
(see BMW requirement specification State Control Clients 10000762 – 000 – 05, date 2016-09-13) are different to the
requirements of the GS 95024-2-1 and GS 95024-2-2.

2 DIFFERENCES

3 OPERATION MODE & WIRES UNDER TEST

All disturbances are applied to 12V system. The 48V system is powered in normal operation without disturbances. The
tests of 48V system is performed separately in according VDA320.
The operation mode of the DUT is specified for each test in the test parameter table of the GS 95024-2-1 & GS 95024-
2-2.
For each test, the “DUT operation mode” is redefined in the following table.

6 CLARIFICATION ON REQUIREMENTS

6.1 Operating voltage

The requested operating voltage range with full function is 9V -16V according to KWV_307_821
The requested operating voltage range with full function is 5V -16V according to TMGS_624
Magna accepts the following deviation:
• The Inverter is fully functional at falling decreasing Battery voltage until 5V and switches off at 4,5V
• The Inverter switches on and is fully functional at increasing Battery voltage at 6V
No change to existing requirements, the following voltages shall be used for Test U_B_max = 16V and U_B_min = 6V

6.2 Wake up pin 4

The required wake up behaviour at pin 4 is described in the following requirements:
LH10000762-000-05.pdf: ZSC_2302; ZSC_2647; ZSC_2651; 3.5.1 Ethernet wake-up line specification;

The pin 4 HW input circuit must withstand all possible voltage levels according GS95024 [ZSC_2688] inclusive
jumpstart, reverse polarity and robust for short cuts.
“Digital signal with battery-voltage dependent high level.” (ZSC_2340)

The pin 4 is used as: Ethernet wake-up. Not permanent, just a pulse switched to battery chapter 3.5.1

6.3 Life cycle

Chapter 4 [LH10000762-000-05.pdf]

ECU_WakeUp_Event
The inverter shall wake up on each of the following events:
“first switch to power” ZSC_2634
Reset ZSC_2635
Ethernet wake up line ZSC_2637
Interrupt ZSC_2640

No Wake up on CAN

According LH1000762-000-05 the Inverter shall wake up on:

- Switch on supply voltage >6V without ETH_WUP.

- Reset and Interruptions of supply without ETH_WUP

The detailed description of supply line voltage inclusive reset and interruptions are in GS95024.
- For ECU_WakeUp_Event especially for reset and interruptions there is no minimum time at low level and no
minimum voltage for low level. In these cases the Inverter shall always wake up directly after shut off when
U_B >6V again, to fulfil FSC A
- minimum slew rate is 0,5V/min according E07

ECU_ShutDown_Event
The time until a shut down is 3,5s [ZSC_2627] not received any network management message from its subnet slave.

6.4 Crash input signal pin 3

Missing information:
TMGS_2691; TMGS_2692 definition of BN12 voltage range

T.30C subject to test according LV124-1 [TMGS_2881]

Important to define the expectation of valid crash detection in case of U_B switch off. Potential misdetection in case of
U_B interruption or connector unplugged. The Inverter keeps ON until internal capacitors empty and internal shut off
threshold is low ~1ms. During this time the voltage at pin 3) crash input might fall below detection threshold and crash
might be detected and DTC stored.
➔ BMW requires no misdetection on Pin 3) when U_B goes below 6V (from valid high value > 9V)
➔ [Alignment Meeting 3.11.2020] After 12V start up (and reset) the inverter will detect an intput voltage
@KL30c [Pin3) Crash input] <9V as a crash. This is the case for a slow rising UB (for example in test E07)
and also in case UB switches from 0V to only 8V. The crash detection and reaction (applying ASC) will be
present as long the input voltage is <9V. Only after the voltage rises above the 9V, the inverter hardware
hysteresis sets the crash detection threshold to the valid value of 2,5V - 3,5V [defined in KWV_307_1192].
The recovery of crash DTC is described in separated DCD_177 and will be implemented in S430.
