Dear Parents/Guardians,

The students in both grades 7 and 8 have expressed interest in starting to

raise money which will go towards paying for their graduation ball and any
fun activities that they would like to plan when they end their time at IES
Upplands Väsby and head off to gymnasium.

The students want to start to sell products from various companies which will give a
percentage of the profits made back to the classes. Due to us changing classes at the end of
each academic year, we recommended that the students raise money in their year groups.
This not only helps them to get some money in, but it also teaches them about the value of
money, entrepreneurship and team work. If they set a financial goal, we will happily help
them try to achieve it.

In order for the students to be able to raise money we need to get help from some of you,
the parents. The teachers and mentors at the school are willing to assist in helping the
students to plan and can give time to them during mentor time lessons, but we need to get
a small group of parents onboard to take on some of the workload.

We need parents to be able to take on the responsibility of putting in orders once products
are sold, helping collect and bank money raised and helping to collect and distribute
products once they arrive. These jobs are not very time consuming but require good
communication between parents to ensure that everything runs smoothly to ensure that
the students can be successful in their goal to raise the money. This is not only helpful for
your children but also a great way for you to get involved in their schooling and to meet
other parents and staff.

If you are interested in being a part of a small committee of parents that can help out with
this project, please send an email to me at iris.cruz.vasby@engelska.se. Once we have
enough names we will arrange a meeting at the school so that we can discuss how we can
help the students achieve their goal and become successful as a team.
