I ntroduction

CLAT PG exam is conducted every year for admission to one year LLM programme of various
National Law Universities(NLUs). The level of competition in CLAT PG exam is increasing every year.
Candidates must prepare well in order to score a decent rank in the CLAT exam. CLAT PG exam

C LAT PG exam pattern: Subject wise weightage
According to CLAT PG exam pattern, extracts from primary legal materials such as important court
decisions in various fields of law, statutes or regulations. The passages will be followed by 120
multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each. There shall be a negative marking of 0.25 marks
for every wrong answer. The exam will feature an emphasis on the comprehension abilities of the
students. The exam will be of 120 minutes duration. The below-given table mentions the subjects

H ow to attempt CLAT question paper - Exam day tips and tricks
Candidates should make a strategy for attempting the test. In most cases, candidates may develop
their strategy while attempting CLAT mock tests and solving sample papers. Some important tips for
attempting CLAT question papers are mentioned below.

● Read the CLAT instructions carefully within the first five minutes.
● Attempt the easier question first to save time for the difficult sections.
● Candidates should attempt the question paper and simultaneously mark the answers in the
OMR sheet.
● Do not waste excessive time on comprehension passages.

● Candidates should not overthink while answering the comprehension-based questions, such
questions should be answered in the context of the passages.

● Candidates should try to complete the question paper around 20 minutes before the given
time.
● In the last 20 minutes, candidates should revisit the complete question paper and try to
attempt the doubtful questions. Candidates should try to attempt around 110-120 questions.
