Famous monuments in my country

The Cathédrale Saint-Vincent-de-Paul is the active Catholic cathedral of


Tunis. It is located on Place de l'Indépendance at the crossroads between
the Avenue Habib-Bourguiba (previously Jules-Ferry) and the Avenue de
France (previously the French general residence). Built between 1893 and
1897, the cathedral receives a great number of visitors and tourists

The archaeological site of Dougga is located in the North-west region of


Tunisia, perched on the summit of a hill at an altitude of 571 m . Dougga
had existed for more than six centuries and was, probably, the first capital
of the Numidian kingdom
This fine statue of Tunisia's first president in reflective pose
commemorates the exile of Habib Bourguiba to Tabarka by the French In
1973, on the occasion of Bourguiba's sixty-second birthday, the French
sculptor Raymond Martin crafted an equestrian statue in his honour.

Al-Zaytuna Mosque, was the second mosque to be built in Africa and the
North Africa region after the Great Mosque of Kairouan. The Great
Mosque of Ez-Zitouna is the oldest mosque in Tunis. It covers an area of
about 5,000 square meters with 9 entrances. The Zaytuna mosque, or
"olive tree" mosque, was built in 732 CE on the ruins of an old Roman
basilica in the heart of Tunis' medina
