Academic Integrity
As per the MITT Academic Integrity Policy, academic dishonesty in any form is unacceptable. This policy
applies to all courses at MITT and defines all activities and behaviours that might constitute grounds for
an academic violation.
MITT expects all students to attend an academic orientation session within their program and to adhere
to the principles of academic integrity.
Students found to be in violation of the Academic Integrity Policy will be subject to disciplinary action as
defined by the MITT Student Discipline Policy. Refer to both policies for further details.

Grading
Grading Policy
To qualify for the post-graduate certificate or diploma, students must receive a minimum of 65% in
every course or earn a 65% cumulative GPA across ALL Program courses. If a student does not achieve a
65% in a course(s), their eligibility to receive their certificate or diploma will automatically be calculated
using a cumulative GPA and will reviewed by the Academic Coordinator.
50% is the passing grade in all courses. To qualify for the cumulative GPA, the student cannot receive a
grade below 50% in any of the courses. A grade of 49% or lower is an F and students must repeat all
courses for which an F is earned. Requests to offer courses outside of their normal rotation will not be
accommodated. Students must repeat their failed courses during the normal rotation cycle of the
program. Students must repeat failed courses until they receive the minimum qualifying grade of 50%
and a 65% cumulative GPA which is needed to earn the MITT Post Graduate Certificate/Diploma. In case
of a failed course or not meeting the requirements for successful program graduation, students must
meet with the Academic Coordinator to discuss the options and reapply to retake the failed course(s).
Student Evaluation
Assessments have been prepared to evaluate how students are meeting the learning outcomes of this
course.
With the recent shift to online and alternative formats for course delivery, and to support the changing
needs of student learning, MITT reserves the right to change existing evaluation, graded weighting and
due dates/times. Any changes will be communicated to students in advance.
Instructors may, at their discretion, make academic accommodations in the event of absences for a valid
reason. All requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and accommodation is not guaranteed
(see the MITT Attendance Policy for details).
Evaluation Details
PROFESSIONALISM
Students will be required to attend class regularly, participate in discussions, be self-motivated,
be respectful to classmates, complete all in-class assignments, submit assignments on time, and
be fully ready with all required materials at the beginning of each class. Students are expected
to complete all homework that is assigned in this class. You will be marked according to a
rubric, which will be distributed in class. Participation in in-class activities will also be considered when
assigning your grade.
ASSIGNMENTS
Handed out during class, these assignments give you a chance to practice what you have learned in a
real-life situation. Each assignment, including the case studies, will include some questions about what
you would do in a situation and how you would come to your decision. You will be graded on both the
strength of your ideas and how well you support those ideas. This is the foundation of being a learning
professional.

MAJOR PROJECT
This ongoing project will have three (3) parts that you will work on as we progress through the different
stages of a training project. Based on a real-life situation (either a scenario provided to you or a real life
situation from your work), you will discuss how you would plan to execute a project at that stage.
Stage 1 – Needs Analysis
Stage 2 – Training Plan
Stage 3 – Transfer of Learning
At each stage, you will have a chance to share your work with a peer to get advice and feedback. You
will be graded on your plan and your reasoning for the direction you have chosen. You will submit the
entire project near the end of the class.
MIDTERM QUIZ
This will be a multiple-choice quiz based only on Chapters 1-4.
FINAL QUIZ
This will be a multiple-choice quiz based on all chapters, with a focus on chapters 4 to 11. This final quiz
will also involve a case study that will cover all of the material.

Program-Specific Policies
Attendance
Attending class regularly is a significant factor in students’ overall academic performance. Any class
session, activity, or class missed, regardless of cause, reduces learning opportunities and may adversely
affect student achievement. Failure to attend class may also impact a student’s participation and
engagement grade, typically worth a minimum of 10% in each class. Should a class be missed, it will be
the student’s responsibility to catch up on missed work. If three consecutive classes are missed in a row,

students may be subject to a meeting with the Academic Coordinator to discuss their academic program
progression.
