CELEBRATION

Day of the
dead
The day of the dead is a really important
tradition in Mexico and it is celebrated on
the 1st and 2nd november, the 1st is
dedicated to the saints, those that are
childrends or kids, and the 2nd to the
faithful departed that is, adults.
The families tend to spend time making an altar
in honor of their deceased, they decorate it with
the favorite dish of their ancestor and other items
like the cempasúchil flower, candles, portraits,
and traditional mexican art that is the papel
picado to represent the gods in the night of Dia de
muertos.

This is with the goal to be around our deceased, to

remember them . It's a ritual that gathers
memories. It is believed that through this ritual
the souls of the deceased can temporarily find
their way home, to the world of the living, to live
with family members and to nourish themselves
with the essence of the food offered to them on the
altars.
While it is in Mexico where this
celebration is really big, several countries
have adopted the tradition and adapted it
to their own cultures, creating unique
rituals and festivities that honor deceased
loved ones in similar ways. The tradition
has spread to other countries over time,
such as Spain, Guatemala, Ecuador and
the Philippines.
In conclusion we believe that the
Día de muertos is a beautiful
tradition and we love that we do
it mainly because we don't see
death as something tragic.
