Acknowledgement
First of all, we want to express our thanks to Almighty God, because of His bless
and grace, and for the strength and abilities that He give to us, so the Guidebook of
Measurement and Statistic Laboratory can be finished on time.
This Guidebook will provide guidance and other information about the
implementation of the Measurement and Statistic Material enrichment to the participants.
In the preparation, many sides have provided material and moral assistance. For
that we would like to say big thanks. There is nothing perfect, nor in the writing of this
Guidebook. For the limitations and imperfection of this guidebook the authors expect the
advice and opinions of the readers and all students for continuous improvement on the
quality of the activities of students to be more applicable.

PRACTIUM PROCEDURE
The Experimental Design Material
Enrichment is carried out according to
predetermined procedures as followed:
˗ Each student must submit the
presentation slide and its literature studies

PRELIMINARY ASSIGNMENT
1. Give and explain the example of basic experimental design principles from your experiment!
2. A doctor conducts an experiment to test the effect of a new weight loss supplement on his
overweight patients. He selects 20 patients randomly from a larger population. Each patient
is randomly assigned to one of four treatment groups. Within each treatment group, the
patients receive a different supplement. In group 1, the patients receive Supplement A; in
group 2, Supplement B; in group 3, Supplement C; Group 4, Supplement D. After 1 month,
the patients’ weight are as followed.
Supplement Type
79 76 69 75
77 77 50 50
Weight
69 70 58 60
(Kg)
70 67 65 59
75 65 60 63
From the data above, does supplement type have a significant effect on patient
weight? Conduct a Tukey test on the experimental result! (Significance level = 5%)!
