02 Historic Figures Historical Figures This Show & Tell is about learning a little more about these amazing people who did courageous things for the history of the United States. We have explored their accomplishments and now students will learn a little more about their lives. Sojourner Truth: First American Woman to speak against slavery. David Farragut: American naval officer during the civil war. Robert E. Lee: Commanded the Confederate forces in the Civil War. Andrew Johnson: Became President after Abraha, Lincoln was assassinated. Abraham Lincoln: President of the United States during the Civil War. Frederick Douglas: Became a world-Famous writer and speaker. Clara Barton: Worked as a Union Army nurse during the Civil War. Ulysses S. Grant: Commanded Union forces in the Civil War. Yee Fung Cheung: Came to the United States from China during gold rush. Andrew Carnegie: A major leader in the Steel industry. Queen Liliuokalani: Last queen of the Hawaiian Islands. John D. Rockefeller: A major leader in the oil industry. Chief Joseph: Led his people to escape persecution from the goverment. Thomas A. Edison: Invented the electric lightbulb and phonograph. Granville T. Woods: Inventor who developed air brakes for safer railways. Jane Addams: Opened Hull House in Chicago to help inmigrants. 03 Guidelines Guidelines 1- The oral presentation must last 3 minutes. 2- The work is individual. 3- Student may have a guideline. 4- Search information from the topic you got. 5- Teacher will give a day of homework to do the poster. 6- The poster should be decorated according to the topic. 7- The teacher will check the oral presentation a week ahead. 8- You may come dressed or bring something allusive to your character.
