SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS CONTRACT

The Technical Intern Trainee (“Trainee”) and SAKURA JAPANESE LANGUAGE


SCHOOL, INC. (“School”) acknowledge that the following rules and regulations are in full
force and effect in the entire premises of the School. That the rules are to promote the
convenience, safety, peace and welfare of the trainees studying in the School, preserve it
from abusive use, provide the services and facilities held out for the trainees generally.
Impose set of directives in order to inculcate correct behavior and proper discipline. The
trainee acknowledges that these rules are sufficiently explicit in the prohibition, direction or
limitation of the Trainee’s conduct, to fairly inform the Trainee of the required conduct and
the Trainee acknowledges notice of these rules when entering the School. This
acknowledgement is indicated by the Trainee’s signature below.

A. LIGHT OFFENSES (Warning) - It means the trainee will


be given a 2nd chance.
1. ID. For identification and security purposes, each trainee shall be issued an
Identification Card (ID), which shall be used at all times while in the school premises.
This ID shall be the trainee’s passport to get in the school. A “NO ID, NO ENTRY”
policy shall be implemented in this School.

2. CLASSROOM SCHEDULE. Trainees must arrive at 7:00AM prior to the start of


their classes and come back to classes in a timely manner after scheduled breaks. No
trainee shall be allowed to go out during classes unless duly authorized. Classes
start at 8:00-5:00pm. Rotational schedule of lunch break is applied to each classroom.
Each trainee is given 1 hour lunch break. A 15-minute break in the morning and in
the afternoon is also given.

3. GREETINGS. Trainee should make louder their voice during AISATSU to Director,
President, Employer and Sensei.

4. LOST BELONGINGS. SAKURA Japanese Language School, Inc. is not responsible


for lost, damaged or stolen items of the trainees. You better take good care of your
things.

5. CELLULAR PHONES. The use of cellular phones and other gadgets are forbidden
inside the classroom. Trainees are required to surrender all gadgets to their Sensei
starting from 8:00am up to 5:00pm. If the trainees are using more than 1 cellphone,
everything must be surrendered to your Sensei. Electronic gadgets can only be used
on the specified time given by the school. In case of emergency, please advise your
family and relatives to call Sakura landline or cellphone (02) 871-2164.
All incoming text messages can only be checked during lunch break with the
permission of your Sensei. Trainees who refuse to surrender all their gadgets are
subject to disciplinary actions like, confiscation of mobile units.

6. Every selected trainee in order to have a good chance of passing the Medical
/Physical examination after shall maintain excellent health condition by having
daily exercise every morning.

7. Outside the School premises, the school or any of its officers has no responsibility
over the trainee. Such non-responsibility applies while the trainee is at the dormitory
offered by a third party. Thus, after each class every day, the trainee is advice to go
directly to the said dormitory.

8. SILENCE. Silence must be observed at all times to maintain a healthy, noise-free


environment. There must be NO loud talking and yelling. Trainees shall not play
musical instrument, radio, stereo at such hours and at such volume as to disturb
other trainees in the School including neighbors. Respect and consideration for
others during study period are demanded of each one.

9. VISITOR. Trainees are allowed to accept visitors (Immediate family only) at the 3rd
floor Kitchen of Sakura building during Saturday only at 4:00 o’clock in the
afternoon. Visitors are allowed to stay at the kitchen to visit their loved ones. But in
case of emergency during ordinary days, trainees are allowed to accept and
accommodate their families, only with proper permission or authorization from their
Sensei.

10. CLEANLINESS AND ORDERLINESS. Trainees are expected to observe cleanliness


anywhere in the school and to do their share in keeping their classrooms and
common facilities like comfort rooms, corridors, and lobby clean.

11. GARBAGE. Garbage must be segregated according to biodegradable or non-


biodegradable and must be placed in the appropriate garbage bins. Trash and
garbage must not be left in the corridors or passageway. (The use of Styrofoam is
strictly prohibited)

12. ROOM ASSIGNMENTS. Room assignment must always be followed. Trainees are
not allowed to move from one room to the other without permission.

13. ENERGY CONSERVATION. Every trainee must cooperate in conserving energy by


switching off lights and water faucets, electric fans, etc. when not in use.

B. GRAVE OFFENSES (Punishable by EXPULSION OR
BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE EMPLOYER)
– It means heavy punishment is meted to all trainees who
have committed serious violation and do not follow the
rules and regulations of the School.
1. ATTENDANCE. Attendance in each class is very important. The School strongly
believes that attending classes is a prerequisite for success. Once trainees begin to
miss classes, they begin to lose interest, and this eventually leads to their failure.
Trainees must attend classes regularly according to the schedule provided by the
school. It is also considered very impolite to be absent without proper notification.
Please note that it will be very difficult to pass the Japanese Language Training if you
have missed more than two (2) sessions since attendance and class participation in
class will be part of your class standing. Assessment is done continuously
throughout the training course by progress tests, classroom participation, direct
observation, and institutional assessment.

2. CLASSROOM BEHAVIOR AND LANGUAGE. The classroom is a place where the


trainees learn. It is not a place to sleep or talk loudly with the person next to you or
display disrespectful behavior. All the equipment and furniture in the classroom is
used to make the learning process beneficial. The trainees are expected to keep the
physical environment of the classroom in good shape. Trainees are expected to
behave respectfully towards their classmates and their Sensei.

3. CHEATING.
There are basically four (4) forms of cheating:

1. Copying another trainee’s work (during examination or as homework or as


classwork)
2. Handing in homework written by someone else.
3. Plagiarism: copying someone’s published ideas and not referring to the source or
lifting pieces of a published text without paraphrasing it or referring to the
source
4. Handing in the same piece of homework as before (even if the trainee has
actually written this himself)

4. SMOKING. The School is a no smoking zone. A smoking area shall be designated.


Nobody is allowed to smoke within the school premises. There are instances that
your employer will request you to stop smoking. In this case, failure to comply with
your employer’s request is subject for disciplinary action. Employers may request
cancellation of COE or EXPULSION if caught smoking. Please declare that you are a
smoker or non-smoker on your documents, be honest on declaration of your vices.

5. DAMAGE TO SCHOOL. Trainees responsible for negligence or damages to the
property of the School, will be required to reimburse the cost of the damage.

6. MEDICAL REPORTS. If a trainee is ill, he/she is expected to hand in a medical


report. This report must be duly confirmed and signed by a physician who
examined him/her.

7. HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. There will be no flammable materials or explosives


stored in the School. This includes petroleum products, fireworks, LPG, etc.

8. DEADLY WEAPONS. Bringing in of firearms and bladed weapons is prohibited in


the School premises.

9. DRINKING- The possession and consumption of intoxicating drinks in the School


and Dormitory are prohibited. Trainees who violate the same shall be subjected to
disciplinary action.

10. DRUGS – The possession and use of marijuana, shabu, narcotics and hallucinogens
are strictly prohibited. Should a trainee be found to possess or be found positive for
use of said drugs, the trainee’s COE shall be immediately cancelled. At the same time,
the trainee shall be immediately brought to the police station.

11. VANDALISM – A trainee who causes damage to school property or its premises
shall be subject to disciplinary action. A trainee is expected to respect and treat the
school as his second home; thus, he must not do anything to impair the school and
any of its properties.

12. THEFT – A trainee who is found to have stolen from the school or any of its staff,
members or student shall be immediately expelled. Trainee shall also be liable to
return whatever it is that he has stolen, if no longer possible, to return the value of
the same.

13. IMMORALITY - Immoral behavior, including possession of object, and


dissemination of obscene literature, pornographic magazines and pictures are strictly
prohibited within the school premises. In addition, any act leading to sexual
misconduct, act of lasciviousness and romantic relationship inside the school
premises shall be dealt with accordingly. Trainees found guilty of violating this
provision shall be subjected to disciplinary action.

14. FIGHTING AND PHYSICAL ASSAULT. – A trainee who causes harm or injury to
another by means of physical contact shall be subject to disciplinary action. The
School condemns any form of violence within the School premises.

15. GAMBLING – Gambling of any sort is not allowed inside the school premises and
dormitory. Anyone who is caught gambling within school premises shall be
sanctioned accordingly.

16. GATE PASS - A Trainee who wants to file a leave or wants to go out of the school
must first secure a Gate Pass from Sakura Office. Only authorized Personnel of
Sakura shall sign the gate pass. In case of emergency, approval from Sakura
President must be secured first. Sakura Japanese Language School, Inc., is not liable
in any accident that may happen beyond the requested period of time stated on their
gate pass.

17. Gross violation of School rules and regulations, especially after adequate warning is
also a ground for expulsion from the school. Sakura Japanese Language School, Inc.
reserves the right to dismiss a trainee who violates or ignores School rules and
regulations.

Failure to abide by the above rules and regulations will result to either expulsion or
disciplinary action. I acknowledge that I have read these Rules and Regulations and
