to work together to make wind turbines in

Images 5. The hand axe was used for approximately 1.5


million years from homo erectus to neolithic
man, the hand axe was basically a tool for
chopping large animals which possibly were
killed by wooden spears.

6. Agriculture has started hundreds of hundreds


of years ago, yet no one knows for exact
certainty of how old it is. The development of
farming risen to the neolithic revolution where
people gave up nomadic hunting and has settled
in what has become, cities.

Images 7. Apollo 11 was the first flight to send a group


of people to the moon. It was done by NASA, the
popular American space group. It went up to
space on 16 July 1969, carrying these three
astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and
Michael Collins.

8. In 1932

The first true robot toy was made in Japan. The


‘Lilliput’ was a wind-up toy that walked. It was
made out of tinplate and is 15cm tall.

Images 9. Steam power has been around for a while, but in


1781 James Watt made a new type of steam engine
that can be used to power machines in factories. This
allowed factories to be located anywhere. Through
the 1800s steam engines grew bigger and continues
to grow more powerful. They were used to not just
only power factories, but can also power steamboats
and trains.

10. In 1999

Sony releases the first version of AIBO, a robot dog


that can learn, entertain and talk with its owner.
More advanced versions have followed.
