1. What is ISO stands for?

The ISO or known as “International Organization for Standardization”, brings global


experts together to agree on the best way of doing things – for anything from making a product
to managing a process.

A quality management system (QMS) is defined as a formalized system that documents


processes, procedures, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives. A QMS
helps coordinate and direct an organization’s activities to meet customer and regulatory
requirements and improve its effectiveness and efficiency on a continuous basis.

3. What is CASCO in ISO 9001?

CASCO is the ISO committee responsible for conformity assessment in ISO. CASCO
develops policy and publishes standards related to conformity assessment, but it does not
perform conformity assessment activities.

4. Who is the third party in ISO?

Third party audits are independent impartial audits with the objective to assess the level of
conformity of a management system to certain audit criteria. The most common form of third-
party audits is one that is conducted to assess the degree of conformity to International
Standards (ISO). These audits are also known as ‘Certification Audits’ because once the
conformity is confirmed the Certification Body that conducted the audit then issues the relevant
Certificate.

5. Who will issue certificate of ISO?

ISO Certification must be issued by an independent, third-party auditor accredited by ISO’s


Committee on Conformity Assessment (CASCO).

6. Who will conduct ISO audit?

An internal ISO audit can be conducted by a designated auditor within your company — if ISO
compliance is your goal, an internal audit may be satisfactory for ensuring your company is
adopting ISO standards as a model for best practices.
