ASSIGNMENT/ACTIVITY

1. Create a simple network – open network and internet settings, open and choose Network and
sharing Center in advance network settings, click on change advanced sharing settings and turn on
buttons under Private, Guest, or Public, and All Networks, but turn off password protected sharing.

2. Find your computers in a network – Change adapter settings, check your computer's Ethernet status,
right click and properties, choose IPv4 and click properties, use the following IP Address and input your
computer's IP address the same as the other computer to connect, there will be one server on both computers,
click ok and go to file explorer to see each other's computer.
3. Ping each other – Check that both PCs are connected to each other by opening the Command
Prompt. Enter "ping 192.168.1.2" into the Command Prompt, which is the IP address of the other
PC. I'd like to ping it, and now the other PC will as well. Enter my IP address, press enter, and it will
respond.

4. Perform a simple client server setup / perform a file sharing to the network –
Right-click a folder, select properties, then sharing, click share, set it to everyone, then add and
configure everyone with read and write permissions, click share, and you're done. Now, go to
Advance Sharing, check the box for Share this folder, apply, and OK. Both PCs can transmit and
receive files and folders via the network.
5. Set up printer sharing – Navigate to Hardware and Sound in the control panel. Choose your
device and printers. The printer can only be configured by the server computer. Then, right-click the
connected printer and select Printer Properties. Navigate to Sharing and select Share this Printer.
Click the Apply button. Ok. Both computers will now check the networks to see whether the printer
is available, and the other PC connected to the server PC will be able to print.

6. Print in printer – Create your projects in Word docs. You can print on the printer using the server
PC connected to your PC.
