1. ONE-MINUTE ELEVATOR PITCH: (document on Canvas) IMAGINE THAT YOU HAVE TO

CONVINCE YOUR TEACHERS THAT YOU ARE A VERY GOOD STUDENT. IF YOU DO IT, YOU WILL BE
GIVEN A GRANT FROM THE UNIVERSITY FOR ONE YEAR.

1. WATCH THE VIDEO ON CANVAS UNIT 2: ELEVATOR PITCH (IN SPANISH)

2. PREPARE AND WRITE DOWN YOUR 1 MINUTE SPEECH IN WHICH YOU ARE GOING TO
TALK ABOUT YOUR STRENGTHS AS A STUDENT: WHAT YOU DO, WHAT MAKES YOU
DIFFERENT FROM THE REST… FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN.

Did you know that students who want to take their studies seriously usually spend between 50
and 60 hours a week studying?

As you can imagine, this is difficult to combine with a job, even if it is part-time, and private
studies are often characterized by having high prices.

I’m Vanessa Bustamante, and I’m in my third year of a Marketing Degree. Along this journey I
have proven to be a responsible, collaborative, committed and motivated student who wants to
learn new things every day. Thanks to this, I have been awarded 2 scholarships of excellence and
passed 5 subjects with honors.

Curiosity is one of my best qualities, I not only limit myself to study what my professors teach
me, but I also like to dedicate part of my free time to do autonomous learning about other topics
that I like.

I am also very participative in class and like to be part of extracurricular activities that can expand
my vision, such as: the sustainability clinic, the debate club, the marketing week….

If I am awarded this grant, I will be able to continue dedicating more time to study and grow
professionally. That way, in the future, I can be a successful professional who can support
academic institutions and provide to enthusiastic young people the same opportunities that I
had.
